Former Justice Department Lawyer Accuses Holder of Dropping New Black Panther Case for Racial Reasons

Yes we can...get away with anything!

Racial or political?  And was the ever disgraceful Eric Holder ordered to take care of the New Black Panthers by his boss?  The question is not, "Was it racial?" or even "Was it political?" because the answer was obviously yes on both issues.  The question should rightly be, what did the President know and when did he know it?  That is the one issue that must be answered as the issue of Holder's competence is now, as they say in legal circles, settled law.  The man, is quite frankly, the worst Attorney General in the history of the United States.

That he works for the worst president in that same history is beside the point.

Finally! After Only 72 Days of Dithering Obama Gives a Nod to Accepting Assistance

After dithering for 72 days, Obama decides to act on the Gulf oil crisis.  Such great leadership...NOT!
For 72 days the oil has been gushing into the Gulf.  3 days after the spill the Dutch offered high-speed skimmers that could have seriously mitigated the damage to the environment.  Because it would offend the Unions, Obama and his Neo-Lib Regime said "No thanks.  We'll handle it."  In total 13 nations offered assistance and all were told the same thing, "No thanks!" while the government cited a law (the Jones Act) from the 1920's that the President could easily have waived.

Rahm Emanuel was very clear early on when he said that a good crises should never go to waste and that was clearly the plan of the Regime when BP's deepwater well blew out.  The lives lost, the damage to the environment, the economic damage to the Gulf states...none were as important as being able to use the disaster to bolster an almost dead Cap & Trade Bill that was languishing in the Senate with almost no chance of passing.  Nothing was more important than advancing the Obama agenda, and so he dithered.  He gave speeches.  He visited the beaches for photo opportunities.  He set up a commission comprised mainly of anti-fossel fuel environmentalists with no experience in oil drilling and charged it with finding a way to avoid future incidents.  He had the Coast Guard stop oil skimming barges from operating along the Louisiana coast so that they could be inspected for fire extinguishers and life vests.  He strong-armed BP using The Chicago Way and extracted $20 Billion which he put under one of his already chosen czars to disperse.  In short, other than acting like Al Capone reborn as he was strong-arming BP, Obama did nothing.

In the blogosphere and on talk radio there was outrage yet the Main Stream Media, also known as the Left Stream Media, was strangely quiet.  Americans, however, were not fooled and political pressure started building until today, finally, the Federal Government is taking action that should have started 69-days ago and is accepting help from 12 nations.  It doesn't mean, of course, that Obama and his Regime will stop trying to use the crisis as a political tool to further their energy agenda.  That will most assuredly continue.  It means only that with the November elections getting closer the Neo-Lib Democrats who must face the voters have forced the Regime to actually take action.

November just can't come soon enough!  A re-ordering of Congress is absolutely necessary to stop the Regime's abuse of its powers and, more importantly, its abuse of the American people.

One last thought:  If this had happened during the presidency of George W. Bush, what do you think would have been the reaction by the Left Stream Media?

The Liberal Wing of the Supreme Court Clearly Favors a Disarmed Citizenry Subject to the Whims and Rules of the Government

Rush's title is "Gun Ruling Should Have Been 9-0" and that is true.  But those on the left have no place in their agenda for an armed, free people.  They firmly believe that the subjects of government rule must be disarmed if the government is to rule effectively.

That is why it is a mistake to ever put a Neo-Lib Democrat into power.  They are not there for We the People.  They are there to advance the agenda of their own political ruling class.

Free Press and the Left Have Had At Least 30 ‘Behind Closed Door’ ‘Sellout’ Meetings with the FCC since January

Free Press and the Left Have Had At Least 30 ‘Behind Closed Door’ ‘Sellout’ Meetings with the FCC since January

There is no doubt that the FCC, led by radical leftist Julius Genachowski, plans an assault on all free speech that conflicts with their own world view. The proposed law to control unfavorable political speech by imposing extensive reporting requirements is key to the strategy of Barack Obama and will go hand-in-hand with the DISCLOSE Act that narrowly passed the House and is now before the Senate. DISCLOSE can only be described as a law by which the Neo-Lib Democrats plan to issue permits for political free speech to their own supporters (the Unions which are exempt from the Act) while regulating free political speech through comprehensive arcane and odious reporting requirements by small businesses and other groups less likely to support the Neo-Lib Democrat agenda. In other words, you can still say it but you had better have detailed data on hand going back over 5 years because you'll have to report it all to the government or be subject to fines. Can anyone say censorship?

What is disturbing to me, and to a great many on the radical left (I must admit it is an odd feeling to be partially aligned with those whose political position I abhor), is that a last minute add-on lumped the National Rifle Administration in with the Unions thus giving the NRA a free pass on political speech as well. The bill is being driven by the ultra-left of the Neo-Lib Democrats and I can't imagine any Democrat who wants to be re-elected wanting to support such a blatantly unconstitutional bill especially as it is crafted so that it will only affect one election–the next one–because it is sure to be declared unconstitutional by the 2012 election cycle. As a Life Member of the NRA I am appalled that the organization would willingly participate in a move that clearly puts politics over principle. The NRA has said many times that the 1st and 2nd Amendments are inextricably entwined so their willing participation in an assault on the 1st Amendment is troubling, to say the least.

Unless, of course, their presence there is an excuse for Neo-Lib Senate Democrats to vote no on a bill that will wreck their careers if they vote "Yea." Could there have been a behind the scenes deal worked out? Possibly. But the NRA has lost some of my respect if it was involved in such a shenanigan and it is clear that the NRA membership needs to start watching who they vote for during the annual election cycle. You can be sure I shall.

Pajamas Media » History Justifies Supreme Court Overturning Chicago Gun Ban

An excellent post from Pajamas Media on the racism of gun control. Despite the histrionics of Chicago's Mayor Daley, history absolutely does justify the overturning of Chicago's gun ban. To deny men and women the right to keep and bear arms is to deny them status as free people for absent that right they are merely slaves.

Obama Admin: Criminally Negligent on Oil Spill

At this late date over two months after the beginning of the BP oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico there can be no doubt that Barack Obama and his Regime are responsible for failing to provide relief for the people of the Gulf and protection for the environment.  They could have reacted with leadership and dispatch but the bureaucratic malaise that this Regime promoted in their reaction to the spill was neither.  The President has failed to be an engaged leader and, at best, shows little interest in the problem.  The Obama Regime has, taking its cue from the boss, failed to react at all unless it was to obstruct efforts to protect the Gulf's environment.

How did the EPA obstruct clean-up efforts?  Simple.  Dutch flagged skimmers that could have been used to greatly reduce the amount of oil that is heading towards vulnerable marshlands were rejected by the EPA for violating an obscure regulation in that the water they discharged after skimming over 99% of the oil off the ocean still showed trace amounts of oil in excess of that allowed when water is discharged from any ship.  This regulation was written to prevent the common discharge of polluted water from ocean going ships passing through American waters in the normal course of their travels but was inanely applied to vessels that were actually leaving the water 99.9% cleaner than it would be otherwise.  In other words, the regulation was not created to apply to ocean skimmers who were cleansing the water but to cruise ships, freighters and tankers plying the seas.  It was then stupidly applied to the skimmer vessels designed to clean up an oil spill.  As a result the spill threatens the entire Gulf Coast with environmental and economic damage.  Obama, the Obama Regime and the EPA are allowing the area to be destroyed so that they can point to it as justification for onerous Cap & Tax legislation to force the American people off of fossil fuel dependency.

Criminally negligent?  Absolutely!

Robert Byrd, 92, Longest Serving Senator in History

Farewell.  May you rest in peace.
Senator Robert Byrd, D-WV, the longest serving member in Senate history has died.  While he was far from someone that I would admire, he did rise to the occasion at times during his long career and should be remembered for the good that he did rather than the ill that he caused.  He was the quintessential example of a politically reformed and re-branded segregationist Democrat; and, that the people of West Virginia kept sending him back to the Senate is testimony that the good probably did outweigh the bad in his life.  May he rest in peace.

"Smartass!"

I guess we're all smartasses now as I don't know anybody who wouldn't love to tell Joe "Biteme" Biden that he should lower our taxes.  But to his reply I would love to look Biteme in the eye and say, "I may be a smartass but which of us is the dumbass, Joe?"  It's a rhetorical question of course but Biteme probably wouldn't understand that.  Unfortunately that would probably lead to at least an extra 20 minutes of discussion while I explained "rhetorical" and reminded Joe who he actually worked for.  That would turn an excellent moment of repartee into a tortuous hour of instructing the quintessential Village Idiot, but it would be worth it.

But I wonder?  Have you also noticed that there is a visible disconnect between the Neo-Lib Democrats and the American blue-collar worker?  Obama has his "Joe the Plumber" and now Biden has "Kopp the Custard Guy."  I'm not sure that either of these guys can truly identify with the American people.

ADAMS: Inside the Black Panther case Anger, ignorance and lies

There is no doubt that Eric Holder is a political hack who views his primary duty as Attorney General as ensuring that Obama's back is covered.  He is without a doubt the most incompetent AG the United States has had in modern times.  If he had an ounce of honor he would resign immediately.

That being said, Holder is still in there and still doing damage to the Department of Justice and the United States.  The only way to ensure that he leaves is to vote in November.  If the Neo-Lib Democrats lose control of Congress and the Senate he won't have the political cover he needs to pull stunts like this.  Holder's willingness to disregard the law to further his boss's political agenda and protect Obama's street-thug supporters is reason enough for impeachment.

Iran on war alert over "US and Israeli concentrations" in Azerbaijan

The war clearly originates with the traditional Islamic belief that Israel must cease to exist.
Interesting article on Iran forwarded to me by Pete R.  Could it be that Obama will make a military move against Iran--something that is not unpopular with Americans--in order to bolster the political fortunes of the Neo-Lib Democrats in November?  If a military move is made the timing will tell us the real reason why.

What's in Store for the United States if Obama Gets His VAT

They have been floating the idea of instituting a VAT for months now giving us a little peek here and there. This has been just to get Americans accustomed to hearing the term so that when they make their push for it the shock won't be as great. The idea of a VAT is on its surface appealing because it is essentially a consumption tax so if you don't spend money the amount of actual taxes you pay is lower. That, we can all agree, is a good thing as keeping more of the money we make is something we'd all like to do.

There are, however, two problems with the Neo-Lib Democrat's VAT plan. The first and foremost is that it won't replace the income tax. What this means is that all Americans will pay more tax because no matter how much we cut down on spending to lower our tax bill we will still have to buy basic items and those, if not taxed immediately, will most assuredly be taxed later on. And the prices of all goods will increase because a VAT is levied at each stage of production. Such is the way that the Federal Government operates. (And if you don't believe me, go look at the statements made in support of the original income tax proposals and the social security tax. You'll be shocked at what they promised vis-a-vis what is in place today.)

Second–-and here I again refer you to the original tax proposals for the income tax and social security–-no matter what they say the rate will be and no matter what they say will or won't be affected by the tax, as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow the rate will go up and everything will be affected.

In the aftermath if the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico we've heard a lot about America's addiction to oil. That brings a big yawn to me every time I hear it brought up because oil is necessary until we are able to come up with another form of usable energy. The more chilling addiction in America isn't, however, the evil of fossil fuel addiction but the Federal Government's debilitating addiction to more taxes and more regulation. We should all–-and I mean that literally–-pay our fair share of taxes which is something that isn't done today and won't be given that the Neo-Libs use taxes to ensure that the underclass keeps voting Democrat. But the bottom-line is that our Representatives and Senators and the Executive Branch have to quit looking at their ability to raise the tax rate at will as merely the privilege of the political class to replenish the government's coffers. It's time to revoke Washington's unlimited credit card and to reorder the way our government spends our money.

The linked article from the BBC (and a tip of the hat to my good friend Pete R.) is about a projected rise in the VAT rate in Romania. The average VAT in Europe is 20% and Romania is going up to 24%. That's what will be in store for our nation if we allow the Neo-Lib Democrats to push through a VAT on top of the income tax.

Stossel Argues Gun Control Increases Crime, 'I Was Once as Clueless as Senator Schumer' | NewsBusters.org

Would you buy a used car from this man?
Stossel Argues Gun Control Increases Crime, 'I Was Once as Clueless as Senator Schumer' | NewsBusters.org

And we all know that Sen. "Chuck-you" Schumer is totally clueless except when it comes to shaking down Wall Street. The Neo-Lib Democrats are very good at accusing the Republican Party of being a friend of Wall Street but the truth is that it's the Democrats who profit from a cozy relationship with the Wall Street barons. When Schumer was head of the Democrat Party's Senate Campaign Committee in 1984 and 1986 he raised millions from Wall Street which played a key role in powering the party to control of the Senate.

And we can't forget that this is the same, ever-loyal-to-the-troops "Chuck-you" Schumer that said of the success of the surge in Iraq: “This is a policy of last resort! This is a policy of desperation! And let me be clear: the violence in Anbar has gone down despite the surge, not because of the surge! The lack of protection for these tribes from al Qaeda made it clear to these tribes, ‘We have to fight al-Qaeda ourselves’. It wasn’t that the surge brought peace here. It was that the warlords had to create a temporary peace here on their own.” Of course, despite his efforts to rewrite history with total histrionics, we all know that the surge worked and the war was won and not lost. (Of course, the Neo-Libs are still trying to turn the win into a loss even at this late date. They continue trying to re-write history and say that the win never was. They're really stupid that way.)

On the 2nd Amendment and the right of the people to keep and bear arms, Schumer is stupidly British in his views. In Schumer's view you have an absolute right to not work and collect welfare from the state but you don't have the right to protect yourself in your home. There are others in public office who rise to Schumer's level of idiocy but none that surpass him. From his self-serving actions it is clear that he is one that would gladly abrogate the U.S. Constitution if that were in his power for he prefers the regulatory maze that makes up socialism and fascism to true freedom. Thank God it isn't in his power, and never will be.

Academy Award-Winner Jon Voight to President Obama: You Have Betrayed Israel and Arizona

I am generally scornful of entertainers to throw their two cents out on political issues because over 90% of the time all they are doing is parroting the Neo-Lib lines that they've been given and in an über liberal Hollywood they risk nothing. Conservative entertainers usually hold their tongue because in Hollywood they risk their livelihood if they speak out. So, is Jon Voight correct? Lets look at the evidence:

Exhibit B: Bibi Netanyahu has to leave by the side door.

What more evidence do we need? Jon Voight is correct.

House Majority Leader: No Budget This Year

This is the type of leadership that the Neo-Lib Democrats bring to the table.  The one most important duty of the Congress is to draw up the federal budget; but the Neo-Libs know that presenting the budget with what they want to spend and showing that to the electorate will ensure their total defeat in November.  It is clear that what they plan to do is something to which a majority of Americans will object.

Do we need a better reason to vote every Neo-Lib Democrat–and some Progressive Republicans–out of office as well?  It's time to call them what they are and send them all packing.  Get involved this year.  It's just that important.

Mexico Joins Suit Against Arizona's Immigration Law, Citing 'Grave Concerns'

Ok, Presidenté Calderon, it's not all that hard to understand this map
I, too, have grave concerns but strictly about the inability of Mexico to respect the sovereignty of the United States. I remember when I was assigned with DEA in Laredo, Texas, in the late 1980’s there were several occasions where uniformed Border Patrol Agents on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande were fired upon by uniformed, but unidentified, individuals standing in Mexico. On at least one of these occasions the bullets were close enough that the Border Patrol Agents, acting in their own self-defense, returned fire so that their assailants would have to take cover which would allow them time to get to safety further away from the banks of the river. The very next day the Mexican Consul in Laredo was lodging a loud and strident protest that Americans had fired weapons into Mexico. When told that they were returning fire at people who were shooting at them he refused to accept the complaint insisting only that Mexican sovereignty had been violated. The professional law enforcement officers in Laredo at the local, state and federal levels all viewed that Consul, an official of the Mexican government, with disgust. He clearly was either stupid or in the pay of the criminals but what he did was with the approval of the central Mexican government and reflected their policy not his own.

So now Mexico has decided to sue Arizona in U.S. Courts as a result of the Arizona law. Total chutzpah that, but it is in line with the thinking south of the border especially now that they see a President in the U.S. that favors open borders. The problem is that they are using the U.S. Court system, something we cannot do in Mexico, to sue a state government. The gut reaction of most Americans to this is absolute anger so on one level it was a stupid decision by the Mexican government. Nothing new in that, but clearly this will not calm down the feelings of Americans who feel besieged in their own country. Instead, it will increase the anger of We the People towards our neighbors to the south which really isn’t a good thing for either country. I think that floating around in the small, twisted mind of the dwarfish Mexican leader Calderon, is the idea that the Norté Americanos will always have Obama as a ruler, or at least one just like him, and that Obama’s decisions will not be rolled-back. That such an idea is stupid is obvious. That it flourishes in small-minded politicians who are used to making money with their hands out for any money offered is clear. The last thing that the Mexicans want is a stop to the illegal immigrants and drugs going north and the money going south and they’ll do and say anything they can to keep the human and drug smuggling enterprises intact.

One solution that would help is reciprocity. Reciprocity has long been used in diplomatic circles as a way to ensure that each nation is given the same respect and treatment as each other nation with which it has diplomatic relations. It’s actually very simple: What you do to our diplomats we do to yours. If you restrict the travel of our diplomats we restrict the travel of yours. If you restrict the housing of our diplomats we restrict the housing of yours. A very simple practice that keeps relationships between nations, at least at a diplomatic level, equal.

Maybe it’s time to put reciprocity into practice in our relationship with Mexico. We can start with property rights and should immediately notify the Mexican government that as American citizens cannot buy ocean front property in Mexico, Mexican citizens may not own ocean front property in the U.S. and have 90 days to dispose of any that they have. After all, our government through Fannie and Freddie has been helping illegal immigrants, with a purposeful "blind eye" towards their immigration status, to achieve the American dream for years so they should do the same or lose the privilege.

When it comes to political activity, Americans, on pain of criminal prosecution, jail time and deportation, are not allowed to protest political actions by the Mexican government in Mexico. We need to do the same to any Mexican national who dares to protest on our streets carrying a Mexican, or any other, flag. They should be arrested, jailed and deported in the exact same manner as what the Mexican government would do if Americans protested in Mexico City. Seem fair, does it not?

On the crime front, Mexican officials facilitate the smuggling of drugs to Mexico. We should reciprocate with a reduction in aid going south to Mexico commensurate with the value of the drugs going north. Seems right to me and, I am sure, most other Americans. I mean, we’re not about to require our officials to become corrupt and take bribes just to facilitate criminal activity going south of the border as they do with the criminal activity coming north so the only way to address it is with aid.

Also, if Mexico does not want its citizens arrested and deported when they travel north in violation of our law, then they must allow American citizens to go south and work at will in Mexico, living, having anchor babies, starting small businesses and sending profits back to the United States. And any Mexican policeman who dares to stop a Norté Americano because of their nice clothes, good shoes and fair skin should be immediately pilloried in the Mexican press, fired from his position and jailed for racial discrimination, profiling and a violation of human rights. And his superiors should be liable to a civil lawsuit where they will have to pay damages and fines. That’s what they want here so they should offer it there, right?

Good ideas, right? You can bet neither government will think so. Unfortunately, if reciprocity such as this is mentioned, government officials on both sides of the border pale. Reciprocity, you see, is something that is reserved for diplomats and cannot be extended to all citizens. To do so is just...just...unthinkable!

But why not? Especially when the current system works to the detriment of U.S. citizens in their own country. Especially when Americans are being held hostage to violence exported from south of the border.

And Felipé, step up on a foot stool and look at the picture above closely. It shows you a map of your country (the green one) and a map of the country that belongs to We the People. Study the map, Senõr Calderon. We’re getting tired of you thinking that what is ours is yours.

Follow the link for the story.
We have a better idea.  Go home and work for it there.  If your own country isn't free enough for you, change it like our Forefathers did.  We'll even let you copy our Constitution!  But don't think that you will come here and just take over.

Federal Gov't Halts Sand Berm Dredging - New Orleans News Story - WDSU New Orleans

Federal Gov't Halts Sand Berm Dredging - New Orleans News Story - WDSU New Orleans

It makes no sense to halt the dredging unless the goal is to ensure that the oil causes enough environmental damage to justify the Federal Government seizing control of the industry by using this to further environmental politics. The President's total lack of leadership eclipses even Jimmy Carter's unless, of course, it's not done out of stupidity and ineptness but by design. There could have been a very effective skimming operation on-going for the last 9 weeks had action been taken but Obama has failed to take the proper steps to get things going preferring instead to dither and use the disaster for political advantage. It is clear that he is not driven by a desire to perform the duties of his office as a servant of We the People but wants instead to advance his ideology regardless of the damage being done. And the damage done to the environment and the people of the Gulf Coast is, to him, unimportant except as a photo op. It is also being done primarily to Republican led states so, in the tradition of The Chicago Way, that's a double plus.

The unthinking bureaucracy of the Federal Government takes its personality from the elected leadership. In this case they are acting like good little apparatchiks, paying unbending attention to the minor details of regulations in a manner that ensures that the problem remains unsolved. They are doing only what the The Man wants done and in this case, until the damage is enough to create the political support that will allow him to get the tax-increasing Cap & Trade legislation that he needs, anything done must be done as slowly and methodically as possible. After all, a quick and effective response that solved the problem would not support the theme that fossil fuels must be done away with because they are just too dangerous and deadly for the environment.  A quick and effective response would not justify the tax increase on all Americans that is to come if the anti-carbon legislation is enacted.  A quick and effective response would not justify the government intervention, amounting to seizure, of the energy industry.

It makes me wonder, what's in those cigarettes he's been smoking with his staff late at night?

Judge Rules Against Obama on Moratorium

"What do you mean a judge said I can't do that?"
They've not quit building cars because some of them crashed.  They've not grounded all aircraft since the last one crashed.  And if cars and airplanes had the same safety record as oil rigs in the U.S. waters of the Gulf of Mexico over the last 60 years, can you imagine how safe our roads and airways would have been?

Yet Obama ordered all drilling stopped in the Gulf and in Alaska.  To what purpose?  For what reason?  Safety?  Hardly.  It has been Obama's goal since the beginning to re-make the United States into a European-style socialist/Marxist state.  To do this he has to essentially ruin the economy to set the stage for such a radical transformation.  Stopping all drilling to ensure that no oil is pumped is a step in that direction.

Obama is angry and there will be an appeal, that is certain.

Dem Leader Hoyer: Middle Class Tax Cuts Aren't 'Sacrosanct'; WaPo Buries Story on Page A13 | NewsBusters.org

Of course the tax cuts are not sacrosanct to Democrats! Their plan is to let them expire and then, once again, blame Bush. The facts are clear for those who actually read the reports. Under the Bush Administration the rich did get richer and did pay more taxes because of it but it is still the middle class that bears the tax burden. The Democrat goal is to destroy the middle class by converting it to a permanent underclass above which will sit the political class. That's why they'll allow the tax cuts to expire and why they've stealthily been raising taxes since Obama's first year. Their goal is to bring well over 50% of the citizenry into a class that is dependent on the government for its sustenance. That group will then be a reliable vote for the Neo-Lib Democrat Party and they will be able to maintain their power indefinitely. That's the way socialism works.

That's why November is so very important.

Judas Must Have Been a Republican

Judas Must Have Been a Republican

When I read this I remembered a conversation that I had with a call center operator trying to get donations under Rep. John Boehner's auspices for the Republican Congressional Committee. Still hot under the collar from what was clearly a Republican leadership wuss response to the Democrat criticism of Rep. Joe Barton's accurately calling-out the Regime for the White House shakedown of BP for $20 billion, I let the young man have it with both barrels. In short I told him that if the Republican Party wanted me to donate money for their use then they had better develop a spine (actually, I may have used the phrase "grow a pair," but it means the same thing) because I was tired of their "business as usual" actions and willingness to act like Democrats when it came to governing. The young man kept trying to say that we need to work together–which is true, I admit–to regain control of Congress and I kept cutting him off with, "What good will that do if the Republican's continue to act like Democrats? They should be jumping on Joe Barton's side and screaming to high heaven about the improper actions of the White House! Why is it that they agree with everything that the Democrats do?" He couldn't answer that and I lost patience and hung up the phone with no further comment. I will donate to specific candidates–something I never did before this year– but to the Republican Party? No, not until they "grow a pair!"

Let's be clear: BP is definitely culpable and will not be let off the hook. But that is why we have a court system and it is up to the Courts to act on laws enacted by Congress and signed into law by the President. It is not up to the President to take action that he has no power to take just because he can get away with it. Congress has clearly become a totally ineffective balance to the Presidency. And the Courts have been ineffective in curtailing both Congress and the Presidency as the more activist of the jurists have pursued their own power plays at the expense of individual freedoms and the Constitution. But the bottom line is that the Republican failure to openly criticize the actions of the President or the Democrats across the aisle in an effective manner is what has allowed the Neo-Lib progressives of the Left to continually advance their agenda. It makes me think that the Republican leadership is engaging in a mere shadow puppet act to "appear" to be the opposition when they plan to profit right along with the Democrats. If they want me to believe that they are ready to lead, let them say loudly and clearly on every TV network that they are going to oppose the Kagan nomination and filibuster it and if the Democrats don't like it, tough. They can nominate a jurist who believes in the Constitution instead of "social justice" or face the same vote every time for every jurist for every judgeship. Let the Democrat's howl with outrage. Let them bluster to their sycophantic media outlets. Let them cry. And above all, let them have a dose of their own medicine because that's what they've been doing for 50 years. If the Republican Party wants my money, that's what they'll have to do. It's just that simple.

ABC and NBC Describe Arizona Law as ‘Anti-Immigration’ and ‘Harsh’ | NewsBusters.org

When you've got the moves you can do what you want.  That most people don't watch you is immaterial.
ABC and NBC Describe Arizona Law as ‘Anti-Immigration’ and ‘Harsh’ | NewsBusters.org

What surprises me is not that the Left Stream Media is über liberal, but that given the ratings and the polls they are stupid enough to believe that they are actually forming public opinion and that a majority of the people believe what they say. The linked report details some of the misrepresentations that are at best borne of ignorance and at worst a purposeful effort to advance a political agenda that is the antithesis of what Americans believe and want.

On second thought, attributing a "purposeful agenda" to the shallow talking-heads of the major TV networks may be giving them way too much credit. I think that they really are just that ignorant.

A bit of fact finding would have kept Dan Rather from having to appear on TV looking like the foolish liar that he is.  But facts are not necessary when you're goal is advancing an agenda as opposed to reporting the truth.

Russia Getting Rid of Capital Gains Tax

Russia Getting Rid of Capital Gains Tax

How can it be that both the Russians and the Chinese are better capitalists that the United States?

Maybe because they realize that what we used to do really works and with "The One" in power they've got a chance to get even?

Obama’s Economic Policy: Deny Truth

"Don't worry!  We will handle the economy.  Woo woo!"
Obama's Economic Policy: Deny Truth

I don't suppose anyone would be interested but didn't the misallocation of credit lead to the problems we have today? Wasn't the burst housing bubble caused in a large part by policies that were begun under Jimmy Carter, expanded by Bill Clinton and continued by a Congress where the architects of the policy, Barney Frank chief among them, insisted that there was no problem with the operation of Fannie and Freddie and their backing of sub-prime mortgages? Chris Dodd's latest as the Democrats were turning back a Republican proposal to require a minimum 5% downpayment on loans backed by Fannie and Freddie actually tells the truth. He said, in effect, that such a proposal was out of line because it would keep people who couldn't afford houses from buying them. That means, of course, that the Neo-Lib Democrats are absolutely trying to ensure that the economy goes completely in the tank. When it does that they will blame George Bush and institute the central economic planning that they so dearly worship.

November is going to be a very important election.

Oh, and a final note: Yes, President Obama lies. Easily and fluidly. But he does it so articulately!

Juneteenth 2010: Crowd-Sourcing Wikipedia in Honor of E. Frederic Morrow

Juneteenth 2010: Crowd-Sourcing Wikipedia in Honor of E. Frederic Morrow

Juneteenth...a unique celebration of freedom and liberation that we should all honor. Make sure your children understand the significance of this real historical event.

Then try again to explain to me how it was the Democrats who stood up for blacks in American history. And do remember that economic enslavement through welfare payment dependency is not liberation. It is a destruction of the human spirit and self-respect.

And Happy Juneteenth to all!

Anadarko points finger at BP on Gulf oil spill

The problem.

The BP fiasco in the Gulf of Mexico is definitely a problem. The oil is still leaking and Obama and his Regime have gone to great lengths to demonize BP aided and abetted by an all-to-willing lynch-mob press. The Regime's purpose is easily understandable: Demonize BP even if it means bankrupting the company because that will obscure the abject failure of Obama and his Regime to properly handle the emergency. We find all too late that Hillary was absolutely correct when she said that Obama wasn't ready to handle the phone call at 3:00 AM.

Of course, BP may be totally at fault but now is not the time to worry about that. Now is the time to stop the oil flow and clean up the spill and that's where the concentration should be. We can deal with BP later–and anyone else found to be at fault–once the problem is under control. And we can do it then without all the rabble-rousing "let's lynch 'em" cheering from the White House.

As for the linked article, we've been seeing a lot of comments like this from the oil industry. In that they are, if nothing else, consistent. They will always kick a competitor when they are down. I find it interesting, however, that the partners and subcontractors have been quick to jump on the lynch-wagon. After all, if BP gets lynched then the investigation may not continue to find out what other companies did, or did not, do.

Follow the link to see how the oil companies have turned on BP and are all too willing to blame them. It makes me wonder if they aren't just trying to ensure that the spotlight stays away from them.

Executive Temperament in Evidence: Bobby Jindal

Talking about doing something and actually getting something done are two different things.
Executive Temperament in Evidence: Bobby Jindal

We all remember the botched, universally panned reply he gave on behalf of the Republican Party to Obama's first State of the Union address. And off course, Obama's speech that night in 2009 was praised by the Left Stream Media and Neo-Libs everywhere. Now, over a year later with the wisdom of time and individual performance to put things into perspective, We the People know who was speaking "...words, just words..." but is unable to actually perform the duties of office and who is someone who can be a leader and get things done.

Bobby Jindal can learn to give a good speech but I don't believe that Obama can ever learn be a good leader. Saul Alinsky just never got around to writing about that. Actions do speak much louder than words and now we know that Obama is just words and nothing more. As the sun was rising this morning I was struck by the ascendancy of Bobby Jindal. This is a young man that will take action. He is a leader.

American Thinker: Mr. President, You're Stuck on Stupid

American Thinker: Mr. President, You're Stuck on Stupid

Somethings are so obvious that you miss them at first glance.  Obama being stuck on stupid is one of those especially after the Left Stream Media has been telling us for two years just how brilliant the man is.  Actually, now would be a good time to look at his educational records and see just how smart this guy really is.

Effort to Clean Up Gulf Spill Seriously Thwarted by Safety Patrol

Have you gotten the feeling that the Obama Regime is prolonging the problem and ensuring that the damage increases in order to bolster their claim that we need to stop all oil drilling and have a carbon tax?

Have you yet wondered if Louisiana would be getting faster service from the Regime if Bobby Jindal was a Democrat?

Have you thought about what the damage to the environment would be right now if the President had waived the Jones Act when the Dutch and Norwegians offered their oil skimming vessels?

And is the EPA actually worried about the environmental damage to Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida or are they worried about keeping the crises going so that can be used as an excuse to increase the EPA's powers?

I've wondered about all these things and I'm not sure that, knowing the Chicago Way, I trust the government's answers.  Especially if those answers come from the President and his Regime.

Follow the link for more on how the Federal Government is hindering the clean up with non-sensical adherence to minute rules and regulations.

Then think about what we could be doing if the government would get out of the way.  Remember, it was the President's Chief of Staff that intoned "Never let a crisis go to waste."  Apparently, they intend to make the most of this one regardless of the harm to the environment.

Southwest Finds Shipment of Heads on a Plane

It's just business...capisce?
There is no indication that this was a message to BP that they needed to "cooperate" with the Regime.

Surprise: Debbie Stabenow Opposes FCC Power Grab

Surprise: Debbie Stabenow Opposes FCC Power Grab

Clearly some Democrats want to be re-elected and foresee a time that they won't be in power. Rep. Stabenow (D-MI) is wisely, for her party's political future as well as her own, opposing a naked power grab by the FCC and its Neo-Lib Marxist leadership.  Control of the internet is something that the Obama Regime must have if they are to perpetuate their power.  Their propaganda machine with the Left Stream Media can't be effective when bloggers are exposing their lies on a daily basis.

Write your Representative and Senators today. Tell them "Not only no, Hell NO!"

GOP's Barton apologizes to BP, accuses Obama of 'shakedown' | McClatchy

Maybe we should write this day down. A Congressman actually told the truth in plain language. It was an example of how The Chicago Way works. And I wouldn't doubt that BP was assured that they would get it back. After all, they support the Cap & Trade that is so very close to Obama's heart.

FCC to reconsider broadband regulations

What this really is about is the seizure of more power by the Obama Regime which they plan to use to limit free speech.  This should be opposed by all who value the 1st Amendment.  They are trying to say that without the FCC controlling the internet consumers will get a bad deal but the facts don't square with that.  We have the most internet freedom of any developed nation and we get it cheaper.  Internet connection fees in most countries are much higher than in the U.S.

What they will do is use FCC power to force rate increases with which they will be able to stop citizens from uploading information to the internet.  They will also charge for downloading information.  This will naturally kill the blogosphere.  But those favored organizations (NYT, WaPo, etc.) will be exempted because they will be classified as "news organizations."  So unless you've got the money to become your own "news organization," or are wealthy enough to afford the higher upload fees, you won't be able to do more than send emails and read what is approved by the FCC.

And it's being packaged, of course, as being a "protection" for the consumer.  In reality it will only protect those now in political power:  The Obama Regime.

U.S. Parkland Bordering Mexico, Shut Since 2006, Remains Off-Limits As Violence Escalates

Can you say "FAIL?"

The Preamble of the Constitution says, in part, "to provide for the common defense."  Since 1986 the Federal Government has essentially ceded to criminals a large portion of the border with Mexico.  This is clearly a failure of the Federal Government and should be addressed immediately.

No country can hope to survive if it cannot control its borders and the lack of will shown by Washington, DC, is appalling at best and criminal at worst.  Those responsible, and they come from both political parties, should be ashamed–and shamed–by the citizenry of the nation.  This is an outrageous insult to all Americans and must be corrected.

Of course, under Obama about all we can expect is the appointment of another "independent commission" charged with studying the matter.

Follow the link for the story.

Then write your Representative and Senators about this outrage.  They are as responsible as anyone else for this major "FAIL."

EPA: Milk = Oil

Just in case you were wondering who was running the asylum called "The EPA," it is clear that it's the inmates.  Only the nerdiest wonk would equate milk with oil and judge it to be an issue that requires federal government intervention.

This is on top of the worst environmental decision of the century by the EPA when it took over a month to deny the State of Louisiana's request to build sand bars in order to protect the wetlands and marshes in the Delta.  I can't help but wonder if the decision would have been different if Gov. Bobby Jindal was a Democrat instead of the Conservative Republican that he is.  My guess is that the Obama Regime quietly delayed action for political reasons.  They want to raise taxes to force an artificial change to "alternative energy sources," none of which are commercially viable while standing alone.  That means, of course, that we are about to embark on an energy policy that eclipses, in gross stupidity, that of President Jimmy Carter.

President Carter wasn't available for comment however I've been told that he's been smiling a lot lately after having lost the crown of "Worst President" to Obama even before Obama's midterm.  Carter is doubly pleased because it took him 3 years to achieve that distinction.

After the next election we need to ensure that the new Congress and Senate addresses the absolute lunacy of the EPA.  A lot of money could be saved with its elimination and that's what we should make happen.

The United States Army - 235 Years Today

I was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Regular Army on November 5, 1971, and am proud of my Vietnam-era service.  Today is the 235th Anniversary of the United States Army and the legacy is a proud one.  I am humbled to stand as a member of such a great organization and tonight at the 11th hour I shall raise a glass to those who paved the way serving before me and to those with whom I served.

And to those who are serving and proudly wearing the uniform, thank you.  Thank you, very much, and may God Bless you.

It's Flag Day

My son followed me into law enforcement. He is, I say without humility, an impressive man who is just over 6'4" tall and weighs in at 260+.  And he carries it well having played tight end for Boise State a dozen or so years ago. He's also an excellent shot, a loving and gentle father of 3 and, surprisingly enough, a pretty fair singer. I swear that neither his mother nor I can claim credit for the singing because neither of us could carry a tune in a bucket; but he can and does. To my knowledge, however, he only performs one song outside of the hymns in church and that's The Star Spangled Banner.

As a member of the Honor Guard for his department he and two others (now three others so it's a quartet) originally started singing the National Anthem at department ceremonies. They moved on from there to singing it at Boise State University Commencement exercises and other official gatherings throughout Idaho. Last year the quartet traveled to Ft. McHenry in Baltimore and sang the Anthem at it's birthplace exactly 195 years after the battle that provided the inspiration to Francis Scott Key. It was a very proud moment to watch my son and his fellow officers sing the National Anthem that day as the nation commemorated that battle so long ago. Honoring the flag is a serious undertaking for those young men and they all qualify to be called Patriots.

And they can sing all four verses. I can think of no more appropriate post for Flag Day than that.

The Star Spangled Banner Lyrics
By Francis Scott Key 1814

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

May it always fly proudly.

Obama golfs for four hours in sweltering heat - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

Tiger Woods he ain't. At least as far as we know.
Obama golfs for four hours in sweltering heat - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

Obama has racked up more R&R during his time as president that anyone in my lifetime. If he's not golfing he's going on vacation. If he's not going on vacation, he's taking his wife to a play. If he's not taking in a play then he's hosting a visit from a sports team. In the time he has left, he tends to the job.

And he wonders why he's being blamed for the Gulf oil spill?
