We should take a moment to remember the complete slate of lies spread by AARP when Bush 43 (President George W. Bush) proposed fixing Social Security during his presidency. AARP led the Democrat charge through a masterful disinformation campaign that had seniors calling their Congressmen daily out of fear that the Republicans were going to cancel Social Security for everyone. It was all lies, of course, as none of the changes would have affected those who belonged to AARP and Social Security would have survived as a healthier entity but AARP knew that by being an effective tool for the Democrats in that political battle they would be able to call in the favors at a later date.

That later date was, of course, when Obamacare was written. AARP was well taken care of--they fought for its passage, of course--and profits went through the roof. Now they are trying to say they are "nonpartisan." Right. I'll believe that right after I start believing that the tooth fairy is a 6', 230 lb., former professional wrestler named Geno.

Woman Accused of E-mail Death Threats Charged, Not Arrested, Media Silent

There are a couple of things that trouble me with this situation.  First, this woman was teaching children; and, second, the Left Stream Media, after its knee-jerk paroxysm of anguish over speech that could cause violence in the wake of the Arizona shooting during which they blamed every prominent Republican and Conservative that they could identify as being a challenge to Obama in 2012, has been completely silent.  At the time of the Arizona shooting while the talking-heads were wagging their collective fingers at the use of "targeting" and other militaristic words and phrases in the political discourse, most Americans agreed that rhetoric in politics was filled with violent-sounding terms that might give those who were mentally unbalanced the idea that violence was called for.  With what happened in Madison, Wisconsin, during the union-backed demonstrations that caused millions of dollars in damages it is abundantly clear that the words and tears of anguish in the aftermath of the murders and woundings in Tucson were the insincere rants and actions of liberals looking only for political advantage in the wake of a terrible crime committed by a criminal with no connections to any Republican or Conservative.

The threats by this teacher (who now faces prosecution) are a natural outgrowth of liberal-socialist thinking, union politics that encourages violent demonstrations "for the public good" and left-wing journalism that drapes such actions in robes of faux heroism.  Rather than hang her head in shame this teacher is probably proud of having crossed the line from legitimate political dissent to crime because for socialists and unions the line simply does not exist.  In their tiny, dark minds anything, including threats and violence, that will advance their cause or make their opposition hesitant to continue opposing their demands is a legitimate tool to be used whenever necessary.  Were the Left Stream Media credible, they would have pointed out that throughout history political violence has emanated from the liberal left far more than from the conservative right.  Instead the journalists of the 21st century are imbued with belief that the only true threat to their vision of America is that it hold true to the ideals of the Founding Fathers by providing for individual freedom.  They believe that socialist government, guided and supported by the Fourth Estate, is the way of the future.  They believe not in equal opportunity but in equal results.

Hopefully this teacher will be permanently removed from the classroom for she has amply demonstrated that she is totally unfit to be placed in a position of guiding young minds through education.  Unfortunately, that is only part of the problem because the system that created a teacher capable of such asinine actions is still in place and still supported by the public sector unions that not only encouraged but helped create the system.  Among public sector unions there is a prevalence of thought that the union and its members can act contrary to law and that comes from the thuggish idea that because unions represent a large number of "public workers" they are exempt from the law or can bend it to suit their purpose.  That is why FDR, while being a strong supporter of unions in the private sector, absolutely opposed public sector unions.  That is why it wouldn't surprise me to see this teacher supported by the unions who will argue that she was just exercising her right to dissent.  That she was threatening the lives of politicians with whom she disagreed is clearly not important in their eyes or in the eyes of the Left Stream Media.

There is, of course, a larger story here.  One about the death of journalism in the 21st century.  It's been said by several different writers that journalism died back in 2008 but it was actually on it's death bed for a several decades.  It was targeted by the left as early as the 1960's in the era of Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn (who relied on its short-term memory problems) and it died slowly by the death from 1,000 cuts which left it bleeding, inutile and unable to understand the concept of, let alone report, the truth.  It was first blinded by socialist dogma, multiculturalism and diversity.  Then its ethics were destroyed by the dogma of political correctness and the erasing of the lines between right and wrong.  Finally, it was willingly and blindly led over the cliff of veracity to die falling into the pit of socialist purity.  Journalism is surely dead!  Long live journalism!

Obama hasn't officially announced his run for a 2nd term, and won't until Monday or so, but the recent speech he gave to the students at George Washington University was certainly a typical Obama campaign speech: Long on rhetoric and short on truth.

How soon people forget the facts.  Obama is on record as being in favor of gasoline prices in the $7.00 range.  That has not changed. Obama is on record as wanting to end the use of coal for the production of electricity.  That has not changed.  The truth is that Obama is on record as not being in favor of drilling for oil and contrary to his statements in his speech and his regime has cut, not increased, oil production in the United States.  The truth is that he is for oil exploration and drilling only if George Soros will have a slice of the profits from it as he does in Brazil with Petrobras.  (And possibly if China gets the oil as it does for the first 20 years of the Petrobras deep water well.)

Sen. Sarah Palin's use of the term 'blood libel' is still being trumpeted by the left as a major faux pas that is unsurpassed in the political history of the United States.  The left would love people to believe that and naturally, nothing could be further from the truth.

Jonathan Tobin writing for the Jewish World Review has addressed the issue and I'd like to say that it's now been put to rest.  Unfortunately, knowing the foaming-at-the-mouth ardor of the leftists when it comes to Palin, it is unlikely to stop.  Self-certified journalists like Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann will continue to raise the issue in tones that would suggest that a serious sin against God has been committed when in reality the only sin committed by Sarah Palin is that she literally scares the far left to death.  They are so fearful of her actually becoming President--and she's not yet running for the office--that they are wetting their beds at night in fear.  What are they afraid of you ask?  Simple.  She's the antithesis of everything that the left believes in.  She's a wife and mother who doesn't believe in abortion.  She has successfully run a state as the governor (don't bother jumping up and shouting that she resigned as that's a non-issue).  She displays uncommon common sense for a politician.  She can hunt, shoot a rifle or a shotgun and is comfortable helping butcher a deer, elk or caribou for meat.  She believes in God and is unafraid to say so.  She is a Conservative.  She has succeeded without the shrill screeches of the National Organization for Women (which really isn't unless the women are liberals who believe in abortion).  In other words, Sarah Palin does everything but pass the left's litmus test on what a successful woman is and that's why they hate her.

Blaming the Right for the Giffords Attack Is Pure McCarthyism

George Will is always an excellent read and this one is spot on.

In the wake of the shooting the immediate move of the liberal left was not concern for the victims but positioning for political advantage.  The Democrat leadership and the left-wing blogosphere and the Left Stream Media, aided by the clearly addled Sheriff of Pima County, began an immediate attack on Sarah Palin, the TEA Party, talk radio (obviously conservative talk radio as liberal talk radio has been an abysmal failure) and Fox News.  They attacked Sarah Palin and the TEA Party because they fear her and them.  They attacked talk radio because it airs ideas that oppose their leftist meme.  They attack Fox News because it hasn't fallen in line with the slavish adoration of Barack Obama as best demonstrated by MSNBC.  (There are no more ardent or slavish sycophants of Barack Obama on the airwaves unless, of course, you want to count CNN as a whole.)

The script is now plain for all to see.  They will continue to point fingers at the political right in hopes of at least demonizing them and at best causing them to hesitate or pull punches in their political arguments out of a fantasy-land-fear that their debate has caused an individual to take violent action.  While doing this they will trot out the tried and worn-out arguments for gun control, restrictions on political speech and additional spending for security for the members of Congress.  (That will come in handy at future Town Hall meetings when they want to keep TEA Party members out and have only compliant crowds.)  Their end goal, of course, is domination rather than clear political discourse.

To be sure, the political discourse in America is loud and, at times, raucous.  It is supposed to be because when it is completely controlled by either side the result is not for the good of We the People.  I've often said that the 1st Amendment is a beautiful thing because it helps us to more easily identify who the idiots are and that has never been more true than today.  We have an aged Sheriff, clearly in his dotage, who instead of being the Law Enforcement Officer with 50 years of experience calming the community and assuring them that the evidence is being gathered properly and they are safe, launches into an unsupported, and unsupportable, diatribe against the political right thus shifting the blame from the defendant.

We have a New York Times that just over a year ago when a Muslim Army Officer shouted, "Allah akhbar!" as he began shooting and killing fellow soldiers at Ft. Hood, counseled that we shouldn't jump to conclusions about his motivation but should wait for the facts, now immediately jumping to conclusions in the absence of any supporting facts.  (As did all those on the left, including our dear leader.  Pity they never bothered to say, "Oops, you were right.  He is a Muslim terrorist acting in concert with other terrorists.)

We have Democrat politicians who have yet to shake a medieval mind-set that imparts motive and action to inanimate objects again trotting out tried and failed gun-control policies thinking, I suppose, that We the People are so stupid as to not remember that they just didn't work the last time they were tried and won't work this time.  (Of course, they've always opposed the 2nd Amendment and aren't about to change just because of a little ole' Supreme Court decision.  Remember, these are the same Democrat politicians who urge collective guilt for an individual's crimes because it's society's fault that the individual was forced to kill somebody.)

We have Democrat and liberal-left strategists working feverishly and overtime to fulfill the dictum of Rahm Emanuel that one should "never let a crisis go to waste."

Fortunately, I don't believe the American people are as dumb or sheepish as the liberal-left believes.

The Death Panel's First Murder

Repeal!  And take back America from the Socialists.  

The liberals gasped and feigned shock when Sarah Palin came up with the "Death Panel" accusation in connection with Obamacare.  The Left Stream Media immediately went on the attack branding Palin with the usual slurs and denying that there would be anything close to "Death Panels" resulting from Obamacare.  In doing so, they blatantly ignored the stated beliefs of those who would be involved in setting up Obamacare.

I have two friends who are currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer:  one on the West Coast and one on the East Coast.  Both of these women are extremely good people with family and friends.  Both have undergone surgery and chemo.  As I look at them and think about what they have faced and still face, I think about what I faced with my own cancer when my daughter was only a few months old.  Thankfully I found an excellent doctor who using the latest techniques removed the cancer from my body and I am now cancer free.  The operation, like the medicine that the FDA has now essentially banned, was not cheap; but the fact that my 4 year-old daughter will have a father for many, many years to come made the treatment worth every penny.  How would I feel if a bureaucrat in Washington decided that the type of robotic surgery that I underwent was just not cost effective based on the number of years I have left in which to earn and pay taxes?  Sound a little 1984-ish?  I've got news for you out there:  That's exactly the way they are now determining what treatments we will receive.

AARP Selling Out Seniors Again

AARP was on board early supporting Obamacare and the Obama agenda.  Clearly they were using AARP dues to further their own political interests which were progressive/liberal in nature.  During the debate on Obamacare they lent their organization's name and reputation in support of socialized medicine trumpeting lies about cost reductions and future free care.  They lied when they said that Obamacare would improve Medicare and Medicaid.  They wholeheartedly endorsed Obama, Reid and Pelosi's socialist agenda.

As a result the American Seniors Organization was created as an alternative.  Never has that alternative been more needed for not a day goes by that AARP doesn't advertise on national TV about their great health plan to pick-up the difference between the 80% paid by Medicare and the total bill.  Again, their avarice is plain for all to see for they knew from the beginning that Obamacare was not in the best interests of Senior Citizens in America.  They have taken the money, now they want more, and they are stabbing the Senior Citizens in the back to increase their profits.

Now the truth is coming out.  AARP has begun notifying its policy holders that their premiums, paid for out of retirements that have been under assault as a result of the Neo-Lib Democrat programs that have severely damaged America's economy rather than repairing the damage that they arranged beginning when they took control of Congress in January 2007, are going up.  Senior Citizens living on fixed incomes will have to pay more to ensure AARP's profitability so they can continue to support and make political donations to the very people who enacted programs to make Senior Citizen's lives, and the lives of their grand children, harder and more impoverished.

Seniors should tear-up their AARP cards and move over to the American Seniors Organization. At least that group really does care about Senior Citizens.

We now have a Republican House and January must be the beginning of the end of Eric Holder's criminal-like mismanagement of the Department of Justice.  That being said, it is not only Eric Holder who needs to answer for egregious favoritism in enforcing the law for what has happened in the Civil Rights Division reference the refusal to defend the right of all citizens to vote, including the New Black Panther case, is either favoritism based on ethnicity or abysmal ignorance.  I, for one, do not believe that the people at the DoJ are ignorant.  I believe that they are simply amoral racists who deserve the harshest punishment possible.

Do you know what is really scary about this? We already have a guaranteed retirement account and we are already taxed to support that account. It's called Social Security. But now two Neo-Lib Democrat Senators–ok, one patently Neo-Lib Democrat and one Independent who calls himself a Socialist (at least in that he is truthful)–have held hearings that discussed doing away with the 401(k) and requiring a mandatory retirement deposit be made to the government. They will call it--now wait, this is rich--a Guaranteed Retirement Account.

This sounds just peachy...if you're a thief wanting to steal more money. Most of you won't remember that the original Social Security program placed the funds collected into a trust fund. That fund did very well and Social Security was completely solvent. But the fund did too well and under President Lyndon Johnson's Great Society program (ca. 1965) the Democrat-controlled Congress changed the rules so that Congress could use those funds for other than Social Security. As a result of Congress essentially stealing those funds--had they said at the beginning when FDR proposed Social Security that the money would go to the general fund rather than a trust fund the bill would not have passed--the fund has been depleted to the point that in the next 10 or so years it will be broke. There will not be enough money to cover the payments required under the law. The money that we've already put in will have been spent.

But Americans are a thinking people. Long ago we realized that unlike our grandparents we could not have a comfortable retirement or even depend on Social Security. Thus, with urging from We the People, Congress passed laws allowing for 401(k) and Roth retirement accounts. With those laws we could plan for our own retirement and ensure that it was comfortable. At least we thought so until Mr. Yes We Can Obama and his minions came along.

So what is the next move? (And please note and remember that it was the Democrats that screwed-up Social Security in the first place.) Obama and his Regime have decided that the government should take-over the 401(k) accounts and put them into a new Guaranteed Retirement Account. The final bill will, I am sure, require that these accounts be completely sacrosanct so it will be an individual's account and he or she will know exactly how much money is in the account and everyone will be happy. At least until the last vestiges of private retirement accounts have been eliminated. At that point we only have to wait until we again have a liberal Democrat-controlled Congress, a crisis that is either real or created, and voilà: Congress in its infinite wisdom and ultimate avarice will again change the law to allow themselves access to our retirement funds for, of course, the good of all. They will of course guarantee that we will get the money when we retire but that will come from future budgets rather than an account that we alone control. The exact same thing they said back in 1965 and we all know just how well that worked!

Imagine, the Social Security program that was to be our retirement account will be broke in all too few years because of Congressional slight-of-hand thievery. Now they are going to create a new program to increase our dependency on the federal government even more. Anyone want to take bets on how long it will be before they manage to bankrupt that program as well?

Now we know how the Democrats plan to win this year. The old fashioned Chicago Way, i.e., cheating.

I had read a couple of posts on the internet about the glitches in Clark County, Nevada, where Harry Reid's name was already checked when an early voter logged on to the machine. That did seem very odd but now we know why. SEIU Local 1107 which, by the way, strongly endorsed Reid, controls the ballot boxes in Clark County through their representation of the voting machine technicians who have the contract to maintain the machines. You will remember that SEIU has been supplying the "foot soldiers" or "muscle" for all the Democrat dirty work during the last few years. Things like beating up a black man who was selling Conservative buttons, flags and t-shirts or demonstrating in the front yard of a private home and frightening a child so badly that he locked himself in the bathroom while calling for help on the phone. Or throwing eggs at a bus-load of Conservative supporters on the way to a TEA Party rally in Searchlight, NV.

I second the motion in the linked article. There must be an investigation and the people responsible must be prosecuted if we are to maintain the sanctity of the ballot. Democrats will object to this, of course, because as Progressives they have a goal of destroying the ballot box through blocking citizenship checks during registration or the requirement for photo ID at the polls. This, however, is a bridge too far and should disgust every thinking citizen.

There is probably no more disgusting Congressman in the House of Representatives than Barney Frank. He was a prime mover in setting up the housing crash through some of the worst legislation--which he defends today--in the history of the nation. He prevented inquiries into the practices of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac at a time when those inquiries, followed-up by appropriate legislation, could have prevented the current housing crises. But he argued against those inquiries saying that all was just fine with Fannie and Freddie. It's almost as if the current crash was part of plan were it not that Frank is so clearly incapable of doing much more than sounding like Elmer Fudd while he blusters and shouts people down.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the people of his district in Massachusetts will give him the pink slip he so richly deserves.

Washington Times EDITORIAL: Surrendering military votes

"What do you mean I won't be able to vote in this election?"

The abject failure of the Department of Justice to take speedy action in support of military voters is a direct result of the policies and politics of Eric Holder and Barack Obama.  They see no profit for themselves in allowing the military to vote if it can be avoided for those votes would almost certainly be for Conservative, rather than über liberal, candidates.  They would rather continence fraud and lies that prevent the military voting block from exercising the rights that they so clearly deserve while tacitly allowing their allies in the community organizing sector to register those who don't have that right to vote but will reliably vote "Democrat."

And don't forget the reprehensible actions by Obama's political appointees at Justice who dismissed a voter intimidation case against Obama's allies in the New Black Panther Party.  Winning by any means, even if those means are illegal, is all that matters to Obama and the Democrats.

Holder has not been held accountable for his despicable leadership because of the absolute control of the Democrat Party in Congress.  We can and must change that come November 2.

The link to this video was sent to me by Chuck, a boss from times gone by and an old friend still. It brought to mind the thought that America's freedoms are much like the Bald Eagle was at the time this video: Endangered. The Bald Eagle is now off the Endangered Species list but the freedoms paid for with the blood, sweat and tears of our Forefathers is not. We are under assault from without by those who would destroy our form of government and substitute a foreign theocracy that they alone control. We are under assault from within by those who would stupidly pervert our Forefathers words to mean that a socialist form of government was what they envisioned and what we need. We must continue to resist both for surrender is not an option.

Our military is actively engaged with the forces from without who would destroy this nation. This coming November 2 we will have an opportunity to push-back against the socialist encroachment fostered and led by Obama, Reid and Pelosi. As our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines do their job, let us do ours. Vote to rid the House and Senate of Neo-Libs and RINOs on November 2.

Indeed, Obama has said that it is an "imperfect" document. We cannot depend on any of these people to live up to their oaths of office so the sooner we use the power of our votes to remove them from the exercise of political power the better off our nation will be.

I don't expect that Pelosi will be defeated in her home bailiwick. San Francisco is, after all, the home of more idiots than any place in America. But with the November 2 election we will have taken the all important step of removing her from the power she enjoys as the Speaker of the House and with diligence on our part, she will never again occupy such a sensitive position. Harry Reid will likely be defeated in Nevada and that is a good thing. If we don't vote out enough Democrats in the Senate, however, then "Chuck-you" Schumer will likely be the Senate majority leader. That is not good for America as he is a craven leftist ideologue who loves being before the cameras. But if we don't take control of the Senate on November 2 we will certainly have a significant enough minority presence to stop any advancement of the über-left's agenda for Schumer will certainly try to advance those issues, like gun-control, that are near and dear to his heart.

November 2, you see, is only half the battle. We must then gird ourselves for two more years of political war against those who would love to subjugate us and make us their political and economic slaves. Until we send Obama packing on January 20, 2013, our freedoms will be under constant attack. The legal victory in Florida that is reported in the linked article is only one of many legal and political battles to come. We have much work to do and, God willing, we will be victorious and free in the end.
