The Audacity of Thuggery

We can never dismiss Liberal Democrats or Union Organizers as stupid.  Cunning and devious are good descriptive terms as is unethical and, sometimes, “criminal.”  But they are not usually stupid.  We can’t, therefore, look at the ruling by a Dane County, Wisconsin, County Judge as stupid, per se.  I’m sure that Judge MaryAnn Sumi did not believe that her familial relationship with a political operative who was a former lead field manager with the AFL-CIO and a data manager for the Wisconsin SEIU State Council, would come to light as her son’s name is Jacob Sinderbrand.  She had no reason to believe that it would be revealed for, after all, no one had mentioned it after she refused to issue an order sending striking Wisconsin teachers back to work in February during the height of the anti-Walker demonstrations in Madison.  I mean, she got away with it once so why not again and again and again?
So last Friday she quickly issued a temporary restraining order at the behest of the unions and their Democrat supporters that prevents the Wisconsin Secretary of State, Democrat Doug La Follette (who really didn’t want to publish the law anyway), from publishing the bill while she reviews the case.  I cannot believe that she is that ignorant of the law, although I fully realize that judges are sometimes amazingly ignorant.  Nor can any thinking person given her son’s prominent union activities.  No, this was clearly a case where Judge Sumi decided that she would use her judicial power to trump an action with which she and her son disagree.  It is a case where democracy be damned, the judge knows better.  (See:  http://www.redstate.com/laborunionreport/2011/03/21/wisconsin-judge-maryann-sumi-her-seiu-afl-cio-political-operative-son/ .)
Liberals, i.e., Democrats, and unions do understand how to use judges like MaryAnn Sumi to accomplish their goals despite the will of the people.  They are very adept at getting their issues before activist judges who believe that their mission in life is to impose their liberal-view of the world on We the People whether we like it or not.  We are, after all, the proletariat and have no right to question the determination of our ruling liberal elite.  This is amply demonstrated in the thuggish attitude displayed at a Western Maryland correctional facility recently when a union boss lost his cool and tried to intimidate prison guards after they started asking questions how their dues were being spent and the benefits of belonging to a union during a pre-shift meeting.  (See:  http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/mar/20/union-boss-goes-off-at-meeting-prison-guards-say/?utm_source=RSS_Feed&utm_medium=RSS .)
What is true is that Liberal Democrats and unions will brook no questioning by We the People.  The prison guards were told that union spending was none of their business ant that they have no choice but to belong.  If you dare to dispute, they are most willing to resort to violent tactics or, at least, the threat of violence.  Who can forget the bussed-in union demonstrators at the suburban Maryland home of a senior banker last fall who were escorted there by Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police Department.  They frightened the man’s teenage son, who was home alone, so badly that he locked himself in the bathroom and used his cellphone to plead for help.  And then there is this very recent nice little video of SEIU protestors at another bank headquarters:  http://biggovernment.com/eyeblasttv/2011/03/21/watch-seiu-protesters-take-over-bank-headquarters/ which was clearly meant to send a chilling message:  “Either it goes our way or we’ll show up at your house and, gee, you’ve got a nice family there, don’t you?  It would be a shame if something happened to them.”
Al Capone couldn’t have done it better.  And he certainly couldn’t have done it with the protection of the President and his Attorney General.  The SEIU and the AFL-CIO clearly can; and pure, unadulterated thuggery is just one of the tools in their bag of tricks, albeit the one they use with great relish.
But wait, you ask, didn’t We the People speak last November and repudiate the Liberal Democrat, pro-union, pro-tax and spend agenda?  Yes, we did, but they don’t plan to listen.  Those who would be dictators usually don’t.  Nor do they care about the outcome of any election except the ones which they control.  They care only about retaining the power that they have regardless of what elections, laws or courts must be perverted to do so.
What we have in public employee unions is a racket the likes of which would have pleased organized crime figures like Al Capone or any of the reputed Mafia godfathers.  Once the union gets into power they have almost unlimited resources with which to maintain their power.  The dues, which ultimately come from the deep pockets of the taxpayers and are just passed through the hands of the government workers, are deducted directly from the paychecks of the employees and deposited to the union’s account.  With the steady flow this money they fund the political fortunes of politicians ranging from the local school board up to and including the President of the United States.  At the local level they are usually successful in installing people willing to ensure that the demands of the union at the bargaining table are met.  And why not?  No elected official is charged with making a profit so there is nothing to protect.  Taxes, after all, are taken from the public who have little say in the day-to-day operation of the local government entity, be it a school board or a local government.  And on the legislative level it behooves the liberal Democrats and their RINO co-conspirators to support the needs of the public employee union because that is where they get their much needed campaign funds. With union support they are sure to win because no one is as adept at ensuring an election as a union which can line up its members and march them to the polls to vote in concert with the union’s wishes.  Doubt it?  How do you think Harry Reid kept his seat in the Senate last November?  Do you think that all those SEIU employees from the casinos in Las Vegas made up their own minds to take the same buses to the polls to vote all at the same time?  No they were told what to do and they followed orders.  The money keeps flowing from the public coffers through the unions--who ensure they take a generous cut, by the way--and back to the accounts of the politicians who raised the taxes and favored the unions.  It’s money laundering, pure and simple, but those same politicians will never declare it to be illegal even though it smells even worse than laundered drug money which, when caught, is severely prosecuted.
But it has to stop.  It should be illegal for any funds that come from the taxes paid by the public to be used for any political purpose no matter how it is laundered.  Public employee unions should be absolutely forbidden from making political contributions because it places public employees in the position of being part of the ruling elite instead of the public servants of We the People.  It’s time to step-up and say so even though we can be sure that liberals, Democrats and RINO parasites will never agree to cut themselves off of the public money teat.  As for the unions, they will try to frame this as a violation of their “civil rights” when there is no such right as evidenced by the fact that every president up to JFK absolutely refused to allow public employee unions.  But they won’t stop until absolutely forced to do so and they’ll fight, even if they lose in voting, with the help of activist judges like MaryAnn Sumi.  It has to stop.  The taxpayer can no longer afford to pay for outrageous public employee pensions and benefits and have those taxes used to support the party (Democrats, of course) that keeps increasing the taxpayer’s burden by increasing the pay, pensions and benefits.  It must stop.
Follow the title link for more on just how far from the law Judge Sumi strayed in order to help subvert the will of the Wisconsin Legislature and the Governor.  People like her do not belong on the bench and politicians who support public employee unions do not belong in office.  Both should be in jail.

Everything that Is Wrong with Public Sector Unions in Thirty Seconds

"Damn!  Dese union guys are good!  Why didn't I think of that?  Instead of buying each judge dey just buy the effing politicians who make-a da laws and appoint da judges.  I admire dem.  Dey make-a me look like an amatuer but dey took one page from my book:  Sometimes you gotta go to the streets and shed a little blood.  I like dat!"
When you distill all the rhetoric from self-serving union bosses like the very socialist Richard Trumka of the AFL-CIO or the equally socialist Andy Stern of SEIU and the self-serving politicians they support (99% of the time those are Democrats) the truth is that public sector unions are nothing more than a money laundering scheme used to funnel taxpayer money to Democrat politicians for their election and re-election campaigns.  In return those same politicians work to bring more public employees under the union umbrella which funnels more money into the union's coffers.

In order to ensure that the public sector work force is happy with their unions those same politicians, again normally Democrats, pander to the unions for which they owe their elected office by giving increasingly sweet pay raises and benefits during contract negotiations.  They aren't, after all, negotiating away the profits of a private sector company for which they work.  It's just tax dollars and they can always raise taxes by engaging in class warfare and pointing their fingers at "the rich."  But in the end we all know that it is every man who pays more taxes and not the rich.

Is it any wonder that the Democrats scream "campaign finance reform!" at the top of their lungs every couple of years?  Of course not!  They have an unlimited source of campaign money from the public sector unions who just happen to be exempt from those reforms.  Their goal has never been to reform campaign finance but only to limit the amount of money available to their opponents.  Slick, isn't it?

Oh, did I mention that the union bosses get very, very rich while heading worker's unions?

Rangel Found Guilty of Ethics Violations

"I am not a crook!" - Richard Nixon
"Me either!" Charles Rangel
The verdict was no surprise to any thinking American but his District in New York reliably returned the Democrat Tax-Cheat to Congress instead of replacing him.  I've heard it said that people get the government they want and deserve and given that the people of his district are clearly in favor of criminal representation.

Charlie makes Richard Nixon look like a really good guy.

Two senators eye gas tax hike to pay for highways and bridges - The Hill's On The Money

The primary difference between the robbers pictured above and politicians like Carper and Voinovich is primarily one of honesty.  The two above don't hide behind the title "Senator" as they steal money.
Two senators eye gas tax hike to pay for highways and bridges - The Hill's On The Money

Two Senators (Tom Carper (D-Del) and George Voinovich (R-Ohio)), one a liberal, Neo-Lib Democrat and the other a RINO of the first order, have jointly proposed that the price of gas and diesel be raised by $.25 per gallon in the form of increased tax. They didn't even bother to wear masks.

If that weren't bad enough, Voinovich wants the Bush tax cuts to expire.

Hello? Tea Party? I've got two people that really need to be targeted in their next election. Both of these idiots should be retired as soon as possible.  Can we work hard on that?

Obama calls for compromise, won't budge on tax cuts - TheHill.com

"What?  Me compromise?"
Obama calls for compromise, won't budge on tax cuts - TheHill.com

There truly is no cure for stupid.

We have a president who is so out touch with the American people that he can't understand that we were rejecting his policies on November 2 and not his ability to make speeches. He apparently believes that the problem lay with a failure to communicate and in a way he is correct: for communication to be effective you must talk and listen. Obama and the Progressives just talked. They completely failed to listen.

Now it is clear that the president doesn't know the meaning of compromise and he should know that it's not the winners who compromise but the losers.  Apparently, he hasn't had time to realize that he was not the winner on November 2.  Perhaps he shall before 2012 but, given that he is a socialist ideologue, I doubt it.

"Smartass!"

I guess we're all smartasses now as I don't know anybody who wouldn't love to tell Joe "Biteme" Biden that he should lower our taxes.  But to his reply I would love to look Biteme in the eye and say, "I may be a smartass but which of us is the dumbass, Joe?"  It's a rhetorical question of course but Biteme probably wouldn't understand that.  Unfortunately that would probably lead to at least an extra 20 minutes of discussion while I explained "rhetorical" and reminded Joe who he actually worked for.  That would turn an excellent moment of repartee into a tortuous hour of instructing the quintessential Village Idiot, but it would be worth it.

But I wonder?  Have you also noticed that there is a visible disconnect between the Neo-Lib Democrats and the American blue-collar worker?  Obama has his "Joe the Plumber" and now Biden has "Kopp the Custard Guy."  I'm not sure that either of these guys can truly identify with the American people.

What's in Store for the United States if Obama Gets His VAT

They have been floating the idea of instituting a VAT for months now giving us a little peek here and there. This has been just to get Americans accustomed to hearing the term so that when they make their push for it the shock won't be as great. The idea of a VAT is on its surface appealing because it is essentially a consumption tax so if you don't spend money the amount of actual taxes you pay is lower. That, we can all agree, is a good thing as keeping more of the money we make is something we'd all like to do.

There are, however, two problems with the Neo-Lib Democrat's VAT plan. The first and foremost is that it won't replace the income tax. What this means is that all Americans will pay more tax because no matter how much we cut down on spending to lower our tax bill we will still have to buy basic items and those, if not taxed immediately, will most assuredly be taxed later on. And the prices of all goods will increase because a VAT is levied at each stage of production. Such is the way that the Federal Government operates. (And if you don't believe me, go look at the statements made in support of the original income tax proposals and the social security tax. You'll be shocked at what they promised vis-a-vis what is in place today.)

Second–-and here I again refer you to the original tax proposals for the income tax and social security–-no matter what they say the rate will be and no matter what they say will or won't be affected by the tax, as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow the rate will go up and everything will be affected.

In the aftermath if the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico we've heard a lot about America's addiction to oil. That brings a big yawn to me every time I hear it brought up because oil is necessary until we are able to come up with another form of usable energy. The more chilling addiction in America isn't, however, the evil of fossil fuel addiction but the Federal Government's debilitating addiction to more taxes and more regulation. We should all–-and I mean that literally–-pay our fair share of taxes which is something that isn't done today and won't be given that the Neo-Libs use taxes to ensure that the underclass keeps voting Democrat. But the bottom-line is that our Representatives and Senators and the Executive Branch have to quit looking at their ability to raise the tax rate at will as merely the privilege of the political class to replenish the government's coffers. It's time to revoke Washington's unlimited credit card and to reorder the way our government spends our money.

The linked article from the BBC (and a tip of the hat to my good friend Pete R.) is about a projected rise in the VAT rate in Romania. The average VAT in Europe is 20% and Romania is going up to 24%. That's what will be in store for our nation if we allow the Neo-Lib Democrats to push through a VAT on top of the income tax.

Federal Gov't Halts Sand Berm Dredging - New Orleans News Story - WDSU New Orleans

Federal Gov't Halts Sand Berm Dredging - New Orleans News Story - WDSU New Orleans

It makes no sense to halt the dredging unless the goal is to ensure that the oil causes enough environmental damage to justify the Federal Government seizing control of the industry by using this to further environmental politics. The President's total lack of leadership eclipses even Jimmy Carter's unless, of course, it's not done out of stupidity and ineptness but by design. There could have been a very effective skimming operation on-going for the last 9 weeks had action been taken but Obama has failed to take the proper steps to get things going preferring instead to dither and use the disaster for political advantage. It is clear that he is not driven by a desire to perform the duties of his office as a servant of We the People but wants instead to advance his ideology regardless of the damage being done. And the damage done to the environment and the people of the Gulf Coast is, to him, unimportant except as a photo op. It is also being done primarily to Republican led states so, in the tradition of The Chicago Way, that's a double plus.

The unthinking bureaucracy of the Federal Government takes its personality from the elected leadership. In this case they are acting like good little apparatchiks, paying unbending attention to the minor details of regulations in a manner that ensures that the problem remains unsolved. They are doing only what the The Man wants done and in this case, until the damage is enough to create the political support that will allow him to get the tax-increasing Cap & Trade legislation that he needs, anything done must be done as slowly and methodically as possible. After all, a quick and effective response that solved the problem would not support the theme that fossil fuels must be done away with because they are just too dangerous and deadly for the environment.  A quick and effective response would not justify the tax increase on all Americans that is to come if the anti-carbon legislation is enacted.  A quick and effective response would not justify the government intervention, amounting to seizure, of the energy industry.

It makes me wonder, what's in those cigarettes he's been smoking with his staff late at night?

Dem Leader Hoyer: Middle Class Tax Cuts Aren't 'Sacrosanct'; WaPo Buries Story on Page A13 | NewsBusters.org

Of course the tax cuts are not sacrosanct to Democrats! Their plan is to let them expire and then, once again, blame Bush. The facts are clear for those who actually read the reports. Under the Bush Administration the rich did get richer and did pay more taxes because of it but it is still the middle class that bears the tax burden. The Democrat goal is to destroy the middle class by converting it to a permanent underclass above which will sit the political class. That's why they'll allow the tax cuts to expire and why they've stealthily been raising taxes since Obama's first year. Their goal is to bring well over 50% of the citizenry into a class that is dependent on the government for its sustenance. That group will then be a reliable vote for the Neo-Lib Democrat Party and they will be able to maintain their power indefinitely. That's the way socialism works.

That's why November is so very important.

Oil tax increase would help pay to clean up spills

Oil tax increase would help pay to clean up spills

They are using the oil spill in the Gulf as an excuse. Your gas prices will go up thanks to the Neo-Lib Democrats in the House and Senate who support the Obama Regime. It's not about the oil spill. It's about needing the money to increase the size of government and extend governmental control over We the People. And when the gas and heating oil prices go up, so will the price of food in the supermarket and electricity you use in your house. Remember that in November.

No More Beer Summits: Tea Party ‘N-Word’ Incident Didn’t Happen, And the Congressional Black Caucus Owes America an Apology

No More Beer Summits: Tea Party 'N-Word' Incident Didn't Happen, And the Congressional Black Caucus Owes America an Apology

I won't hold my breath for the apology.

The Democrats walked through that crowd hoping to provoke an incident so they could cast themselves as "victims" (they love playing the victimology game), divert America's attention from their theft of our freedom and money from our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and with an eye on November. They hoped to parlay the faux racism of the Tea Party into a plus for the November elections.

I've got news for them: It didn't work. As a matter of fact, it looks like it back-fired.

Then in November, vote to get rid of these cynical traditional politicians who are more interested in their own careers than in representing We the People.

More American Expatriates Give Up Citizenship

I spent over 30 years in the service of my country and love it dearly.  I lived outside of the United States, mostly in Southeast Asia, for about 20 of those years and the result was not a desire to become a citizen of another country but a reenforcement of my love for America.  I can look at my country and see all her flaws, yet having seen much of the world and having lived abroad for so great a time, I've seen no other nation that measures up to her greatness.

There are certainly improvements that can be made.  Our tax system has become onerous and unwieldy.  Our government has become overlarge and has forgotten its proper role under the Constitution.  We seem unable to break the hold of the pernicious political correctness that eats away at our culture weakening it at a time when we need it to be strengthened.  Despite these and other failings, it is still the shining light of freedom in this world and if you doubt me, just look at the lines of people at embassies and consulates around the world who are trying to get a visa just to come here.

I'm certain that the people in the linked story are at their wits end to consider such an act and for that they have my pity.  But while I may understand their consternation borne of the very expansion of government that I and other Conservatives oppose, I cannot support or look favorably upon their decision.

The Governor Who Roared In New Jersey - Investors.com

The Governor Who Roared In New Jersey - Investors.com

George Will, always a good read, but this column clearly shows the stark difference between a Democrat's view of an ideal government and a Republican's view of an ideal government based on what is happening in the real world. New Jersey has been a blue state for a long time before the revolt against Obama and the Democrats with their "big government" program began last November. To be sure, New Jersey's Republicans had contributed to the problems there by acting like Democrats on those times when they were in control and the end result in the uncontrolled growth of the state government and entitlement programs in the Garden State has resulted in a high income tax as well as a high property tax. New Yorkers are still happy with Jersey, of course, considering that they are being figuratively raped by the tax man in that state and especially in that city and they are willing to pay the relatively lower taxes that people to live and work in New Jersey bemoan as too high.

The Global Flat Tax Revolution

The Global Flat Tax Revolution

The flat tax is something whose time has come.

We the People are tired of Washington using the tax system as a way to reward their cronies and punish the rest of us.

We the People are tired of Washington looking at us as their cash cows.

We the People are tired of Washington using our money to create generations of economic slaves who pay no taxes on which they can count to vote to keep them in office.

We the People are tired of Washington spending as if there were no tomorrow and stealing our children's and grandchildren's future.

It's time for a change.  All Americans must have skin in the game and pay their fair share in running the government.  We can't have an ever expanding class of people who pay no taxes and rely on the government for their sustenance.  We can no longer have freeloaders in our society and we cannot continue to demonize those who make money to the benefit of those who do not work.

The flat tax does work.

Congressional "Free" Travel Not Free to Taxpayers

And we wonder where Representatives and Senators get the idea that they can spend, spend and spend some more! They've been spending so long it's become, in their eyes, their right. Imagine having a bank account set up to automatically refill when it's empty. That's what Congress set up decades ago while We the People were busy working, taking care of our families, being productive and trusting our Representatives and Senators to be honorable in their work. Clearly they were about as honorable as Bonnie and Clyde and had the same larcenous intent.  And that intent has changed in the ensuing decades from petty larceny to rape, pillage and plunder which is what we have today with the liberal-progressive-socialists in control.

Fortunately, since the installation of the Obama Regime, and with their forcing unwanted legislation into law over the objections of a majority of the citizenry, We the People have awakened. It's time to put a stop to Congress's attitude that they never have to worry about their budget. It's time to tell them to stay home and work or find another job.  It's time to send them a message by sending them all home in defeat.
