It actually worked! Rather than hear the the 767-page amendment actually read in public with sure exposure of any little hidden tricks and pork as it is read, Bernie Sanders, the Socialist from Vermont, withdrew the amendment.
Light does make evil run and hide. That's why Harry Reid has hidden his version of the complete bill away keeping it safe from the sun, for like a vampire in sunlight, it would expire quickly if exposed to the light of review.
