FOXNews.com - EPA Issues Greenhouse Gas Warning Despite Concerns Over Leaked E-Mails

To quote President Obama from an interview on his environmental goals prior to the 2008 election: "The cost of power will necessarily skyrocket."
I hope you're now paying attention because that's exactly what is going to happen. Coal-fired plants provide 50% of the electricity in the United States. Environmental activists have already managed to stop the construction of any new nuclear power plants so guess what? The EPA is going to "regulate" those plants and either fine them or shut them down. You won't be able to afford to turn on your lights by next year. Well, maybe one light.
You won't be able to afford to drive your car by next year either. There's not been a refinery built in the U.S. in decades thanks to the EPA. Now they can go after your car, your pick-up and the big trucks on the road that carry goods.
But the trucks will eventually disappear along with the plants that produced the goods that they currently transport. The EPA will regulate those manufacturing plants out of existence, too.
There is no end to the amount of government intrusion that will occur as a result of the EPA's ruling today.
And everything will cost more. Yes, thanks to the Obama Administration everything...will...cost...more.
In addition, the EPA regulation of carbon dioxide will lower the production capability of the United States by about $600 billion, yes that is with a "b," by the year 2029. That means that the tax base we'd like to count on to pay the government debt that they've been running up will no longer exist. Jobs and manufacturing will simply disappear to other countries.
The country simply cannot afford the EPA or its' whacked-out science. Maybe we should start saving money at the government level by cutting the EPA budget by at least 60%. That would help pay the cost of the TARP and the rest could be used to shore up Medicare. Come to think of it, 75% would be even better because it's a huge, bloated agency that does little good and soaks up tax dollars like a dry sponge.
Yes, I know. They'll never do that. But when a part of the Executive branch of government affirmatively acts against the best interests of the people of the United States, that's what Congress should do. The Democrats can stop it but they won't. Their mouths are watering at the thought of a huge government that controls everything from birth to death. The Republicans bear some responsibility for it as well because for 8 years they managed to do nothing but spend like Democrats.
We've got a lot of people in Washington, DC, that need to be put on the unemployment line. A lot.
We're going in exactly the wrong direction and we will have to work hard to change it once we've kicked the perpetrators out of Washington. It will be a lot of work but it will be worth it in the end. We've got to take our country back from the idiots. We know who they are and we know where they are. We just need to get the voters out in the next election and it will be a start. In 2012 we can finish it.
