On the more pleasant side, Time Magazine, oft the butt of criticism for its exceedingly lightweight, albeit leftwing, political reporting, has finally produced a cover with which all can agree.
I know of no boxer in the 21st century that deserves even close to the adulations that are heaped on Manny Pacquiao. They call him the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world but his accomplishments transcend even that. He has moved into the realm of greats and his name belongs in the same chapter as Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali to name just a few. He is just that good.
We'll be rooting for him from Virginia.
