Of course the liberal-progressive-socialist Democrats and RINOs want to dumb down the schools!  An educated and informed populace is unlikely to take to the chains of socialist slavery for long and they don't want a rebellion.  It is in their best interests, therefore, to dumb down the educational system in order that the populace be more compliant.
