Thomas Sowell Dissects Intellectuals

This article relates an interview with that rarest of all people: An intellectual who also possesses common sense. One of the conclusions Thomas Sowell makes is that "intellectuals, unlike normal people, are unaccountable for what they do, and as a result are unconstrained when it comes to foolishness."

This seems to explain why liberal-progressive-socialists are so enamored with intellectuals. Like intellectuals, they are unaccountable for the foolish things that they do.

"George Orwell said that some ideas are so foolish that only an intellectual could believe them, for no ordinary man could be such a fool." – Thomas Sowell

I would modify that to be, "Some ideas are so foolish that only a liberal-progressive-socialist could believe them, for no ordinary man could be such a fool."
