House lifts ban on D.C. abortion funding - Washington Times

So the House of Representatives will allow the District of Columbia to fund abortions while at the same time cutting the school voucher program. While both actions are highly objectionable from a religious and humanitarian view, I guess they do compliment each other. The de-funding of the school voucher program and forcing the District's children into what is generally acknowledged as one of the worst public school systems in the nation is less problematic if there are fewer children to educate.

And I'm sure that Margaret Sanger's Planned Parenthood organization is licking its' chops at the idea of being able to get the government funding to "guide" women to abortion in a city that is predominantly African-American as that fulfills at least part of Sanger's clearly racist rationale for abortion.

As for the school voucher program, it never ceases to amaze me how liberal-progressive-socialists can continue to tout themselves as the champions of all minorities yet be behind such an egregious assault on the concept of "family," "individual responsibility" and "education." I guess they don't like the idea of poor, predominantly black, children from the District being educated alongside the children of wealthier, predominantly liberal-progressive-socialist parents in the areas numerous private schools. If you think about it, considering the amount of money that the Democrat-controlled Congress has frittered away in the budget for airports that handle 3-flights a day and other pork, the school voucher program was "chump change" in the $1 trillion budget. But the Democrats weren't about to toss it to those they consider "chumps."

The statists of the liberal-progressive left bill themselves as egalitarian champions of the poor and down-trodden but they are not. If they were, that single amendment relating to the school voucher program would have been defeated by an overwhelming bi-partisan majority because what it does is condemn inner-city children to a continued life of dependency on government. It condemns them because their education will not allow them to develop their God-given talents sufficiently to advance to the next rung, or two, or three, of the economic ladder. That continued dependency, wherein the liberal-progressive-socialists chant the mantra of "you can't succeed without our protection because you're black," in the ears of children from the time they enter Kindergarten until they graduate, barely literate, from one of the District's High School, perpetuates racial divides and is used to perpetuate the left's political power. ("Vote Democrat or you will suffer when the government cuts your dole.") The voucher program allowed children to move away from the liberal mantra, see beyond the curtain of economic slavery and realize that they were as capable as any other child, regardless of the pigmentation of their skin, of achieving true success in life.

The liberal-progressive-socialists are so willing to waste the minds and talents of children; but will be the first in line to tell you how terrible that waste is while pointing their finger everywhere but where the responsibility truly lies.  With themselves.

Oh, and in the same bill they make it possible for the District to legalize marijuana. That should help the youth.
