Fight for a flagpole - Washington Times

Fight for a flagpole - Washington Times

I first blogged about the disgraceful actions of the Sussex Square HOA both in this blog and on Facebook back on December 2 and I'm happy to note that the story still has legs--and its' own Facebook page! And Col. Barfoot may be winning.

Some information has come out that "flagpoles" are not specifically prohibited by the HOA's rules. That being so, under Virginia law the HOA will have to let him keep it or suffer defeat when it gets to court. The Colonel is being represented pro bono by a local lawyer in Richmond and Senator Mark Warner, who is normally way too far left to suit me, has taken up the cause on the Colonel's behalf.

It would be nice if people could show up at either dawn to join the Colonel's flag raising or at dusk for the Retreat. After all, how many times will you have the opportunity to see the country's flag raised by a true American hero?
