American Thinker: California's Half-Trillion-Dollar Pension Fund Mess: Blame Jerry Brown
If you want to go to the heart of the reason that the State of California is broke and almost bankrupt, you have to go no farther than Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown. It was policies promoted by the liberal-progressive-socialist Democrat elite when he was governor of California that lead directly to the problems California has today. Socialism, even that as watered down as California's, just does not work for as Margaret Thatcher once advised, pretty soon you run out of other people's money.
On Jerry Brown, his greatest feat while governor was that he dated singer Linda Ronstadt. She was liberal, talented, beautiful, had a great voice and had enough common-sense to dump him. Despite her politics--left-wing looney at times--I still like her music and "Lo Siento Mi Vida" is my all time favorite.
