The problem is that the President's definition of "bipartisanship" is: "You do what I want and I'll let you stand behind me while I take the credit at the press conference." He doesn't mean that he'll meet the Republicans half-way or that he will concede anything. He is, quite simply, the most partisan President to occupy the White House in decades, if not in the history of our nation.
No, Mr. President, it's time for you to quit being an ideologue for the far left, to drop your socialist programs and ideas and move to the middle. Then we can talk.
