Obama signs extension of Patriot Act provisions - Washington Times

I'm not necessarily against the Patriot Act because if used properly it is an excellent tool for counter-terrorism; but am I the only one that finds it odd that the liberal-progressive-socialist Democrats would extend that which they have railed against and cursed for the last 4 years? Does anyone else see the hypocrisy?
