Low-tax Texas beats big-government California

There is a definite lesson to be learned in Michael Barone's editorial.  States, and countries, that wish to expand their economy, create jobs and provide their citizens with the opportunity to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness would do well to emulate Texas rather than California.  Higher taxes that are used to make people comfortable in their poverty do not encourage people to use their talents.  Increased government oversight over the daily lives of people does not increase their security or happiness or provide for their long term well-being.

It's a lesson that the liberal-progressive-socialists in the Democrat Party have yet to learn.
