In the old west the movies would have you believe that shoot-outs were common place. In fact they were not because almost everybody carried a gun which tended to make most people very polite and respectful of others.
In over 30 years of carrying a gun in the service of my country, I never felt cause to fear a weapon in the hands of honest people. I always believed they were on my side and besides, I has sworn an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. The 2nd Amendment is part of the Constitution and reads very clearly.
