It Is Time For a New Tax Revolt

The current progressive tax system in the United States stifles success and punishes those who succeed. Or at least that's what it proposes to do. In actuality, while it does stifle success to a degree so long as the tax is not raised to the point where those with wealth withdraw if from the system–at which point it does stifle success–it surely doesn't punish the wealthy. True, the wealthiest 1% pay the bulk of taxes but that same 1% is able to hire tax specialists that help them avoid a majority of the taxes that the middle class still has to pay.

It's time to stop using the tax system as a basis for social engineering. All citizens and residents should pay the same basic rate. All of them.
