Two points.

First, we already have a deficit panel that is elected by the people.  It's called Congress.  That it has failed in its fiscal duties is not a reason to arbitrarily create another deficit panel that can take the heat off Congress and the White House for the exploding deficit.  It is their problem and theirs alone and they will answer for it in November.

Second, appointing an arguably corrupt and very political union hack like Andy Stern to such a panel is only adding insult to injury and is like having the proverbial fox guarding the hen house.  I look forward to the investigations by a non-political Department of Justice that will begin after President Obama and his political hack of an Attorney General leave office on 1/20/2013.

This was a bad, no, stupid idea from the beginning.  President Obama, if he is not a radical ideologue who is interested in destroying the nation, should disband the panel immediately.

Anyone want to bet on what he'll do?
