The Neo-Lib Democrats know that DISCLOSE won't pass Constitutional muster but they don't care. They only want it in place for November and, given that the Supreme Court is on recess until the first Monday in October, the damage will be done even if the Supreme Court were to make a ruling on the very first day of its return. This is pure censorship and it's being done by Pelosi and Reid with the backing of the White House.

Contact your Senators today and tell them that they must vote "NO" on DISCLOSE. It is a direct assault on the 1st Amendment.

The Neo-Lib Democrats are fond of talking about "America's addiction to oil" and have begun shifting the blame for the oil spill to the American people. They want us to feel guilty about the oil spill so we will acquiesce to their Cap & Tax/Climate Control program like good little slaves. They want us to accept the punishment for our "addiction" in terms of higher taxes, higher energy costs, a lower standard of living and increased control of our daily lives by the Federal Government. That's what they want and that's the purpose of that phrase.

Not me.

I believe that the blame for BP blowout in the Gulf, insofar as the actual blowout is concerned, has yet to be determined. We do not know, but do suspect, that BP's standards were too low. We do not know if a supplier gave them a substandard part but that could have happened. We do not know if it was something that was caused purely by the depths at which they were trying to drill–although this is clearly not the real issue as Obama approved a $2 billion loan to Petrobras (think major Soros investment) for a well that is more than 3 times deeper off the coast of Brazil. No, the blame for the accident regardless of technical cause, lies directly and solely with environmentalist idiots who have pushed oil drilling out of areas where it can be done more safely and with less risk to the environment. The blame for the blowout lies with those who have a vision of a world where people just float through the air through the power of their brain and energy is garnered only from the sun. The blame for the blowout lies with Neo-Lib Democrat politicians, supported by some RINOs of course, who use fairy-tale environmentalists with visions of doom to advance their own political agenda of total government control by the ruling political class over a permanent underclass. That's where the blame lies! It lies with people like Al "the Overheated Poodle" Gore, John "I served in Vietnam" Kerry, Nancy "the Nanny" Pelosi, Harry "Screw the Country" Reid and Barry "I Will be King" Obama. It lies with those who see the control of the energy industry as a way to wealth and, above all, total political power.

It is not America's addiction to oil that is the problem. It is the Neo-Lib Left's addiction to power that is the danger. "America's addiction to oil" is a lie. It is nothing more that a focus-group-chosen phrase that the Obama Regime believes can be used to make Americans feel guilty enough to accept their draconian energy plan. Nothing more. Nothing less. It is part of their talking points and you can expect it to be trotted out almost daily if they see it working. And if it doesn't work or starts to grow thin on the ears of We the People, then they will come up with a new slogan or phrase, designed and chosen by another focus group, to make us willingly bow our heads and accept slavery.

As I said above, not me.

And we all know that Sen. "Chuck-you" Schumer is totally clueless except when it comes to shaking down Wall Street. The Neo-Lib Democrats are very good at accusing the Republican Party of being a friend of Wall Street but the truth is that it's the Democrats who profit from a cozy relationship with the Wall Street barons. When Schumer was head of the Democrat Party's Senate Campaign Committee in 1984 and 1986 he raised millions from Wall Street which played a key role in powering the party to control of the Senate.

And we can't forget that this is the same, ever-loyal-to-the-troops "Chuck-you" Schumer that said of the success of the surge in Iraq: “This is a policy of last resort! This is a policy of desperation! And let me be clear: the violence in Anbar has gone down despite the surge, not because of the surge! The lack of protection for these tribes from al Qaeda made it clear to these tribes, ‘We have to fight al-Qaeda ourselves’. It wasn’t that the surge brought peace here. It was that the warlords had to create a temporary peace here on their own.” Of course, despite his efforts to rewrite history with total histrionics, we all know that the surge worked and the war was won and not lost. (Of course, the Neo-Libs are still trying to turn the win into a loss even at this late date. They continue trying to re-write history and say that the win never was. They're really stupid that way.)

On the 2nd Amendment and the right of the people to keep and bear arms, Schumer is stupidly British in his views. In Schumer's view you have an absolute right to not work and collect welfare from the state but you don't have the right to protect yourself in your home. There are others in public office who rise to Schumer's level of idiocy but none that surpass him. From his self-serving actions it is clear that he is one that would gladly abrogate the U.S. Constitution if that were in his power for he prefers the regulatory maze that makes up socialism and fascism to true freedom. Thank God it isn't in his power, and never will be.

It makes no sense to halt the dredging unless the goal is to ensure that the oil causes enough environmental damage to justify the Federal Government seizing control of the industry by using this to further environmental politics. The President's total lack of leadership eclipses even Jimmy Carter's unless, of course, it's not done out of stupidity and ineptness but by design. There could have been a very effective skimming operation on-going for the last 9 weeks had action been taken but Obama has failed to take the proper steps to get things going preferring instead to dither and use the disaster for political advantage. It is clear that he is not driven by a desire to perform the duties of his office as a servant of We the People but wants instead to advance his ideology regardless of the damage being done. And the damage done to the environment and the people of the Gulf Coast is, to him, unimportant except as a photo op. It is also being done primarily to Republican led states so, in the tradition of The Chicago Way, that's a double plus.

The unthinking bureaucracy of the Federal Government takes its personality from the elected leadership. In this case they are acting like good little apparatchiks, paying unbending attention to the minor details of regulations in a manner that ensures that the problem remains unsolved. They are doing only what the The Man wants done and in this case, until the damage is enough to create the political support that will allow him to get the tax-increasing Cap & Trade legislation that he needs, anything done must be done as slowly and methodically as possible. After all, a quick and effective response that solved the problem would not support the theme that fossil fuels must be done away with because they are just too dangerous and deadly for the environment.  A quick and effective response would not justify the tax increase on all Americans that is to come if the anti-carbon legislation is enacted.  A quick and effective response would not justify the government intervention, amounting to seizure, of the energy industry.

It makes me wonder, what's in those cigarettes he's been smoking with his staff late at night?

FCC to reconsider broadband regulations

What this really is about is the seizure of more power by the Obama Regime which they plan to use to limit free speech.  This should be opposed by all who value the 1st Amendment.  They are trying to say that without the FCC controlling the internet consumers will get a bad deal but the facts don't square with that.  We have the most internet freedom of any developed nation and we get it cheaper.  Internet connection fees in most countries are much higher than in the U.S.

What they will do is use FCC power to force rate increases with which they will be able to stop citizens from uploading information to the internet.  They will also charge for downloading information.  This will naturally kill the blogosphere.  But those favored organizations (NYT, WaPo, etc.) will be exempted because they will be classified as "news organizations."  So unless you've got the money to become your own "news organization," or are wealthy enough to afford the higher upload fees, you won't be able to do more than send emails and read what is approved by the FCC.

And it's being packaged, of course, as being a "protection" for the consumer.  In reality it will only protect those now in political power:  The Obama Regime.

Sun Tzu authored The Art of War centuries ago yet it is as applicable in the 21st century as it was in 300 BC. Unfortunately while professional soldiers spend their lives studying the precepts of Sun Tzu in many different forms, politicians generally fail to understand the lessons that were meant to be conveyed by the "wise" quotes that we are all used to seeing whenever authors want to appear wise when writing about war. Few politicians have read Sun Tzu and even fewer understand what was being conveyed in those writings. Obama has heard of Sun Tzu, I am sure, but I doubt that he read The Art of War and, if he did, he failed to understand it. Not that Obama is ignorant but his concept of battle comes more from the likes of Saul Alinsky than from classical strategic and tactical thought and this makes him less effective that even Lyndon Johnson who tried to run a very hot war from the White House. Democrats, with the exception of Harry Truman, have proven time and again that it just can't be done that way.

What we see with the Obama Regime, and with the Bush Administration before it, is the reticence to clearly define and identify the enemy. The failure of the Bush Administration was because after the shock of 9/11 wore off and the civil libertarians started their counter-campaigns to humanize the enemy, Republicans began acting like Democrats and paying homage to "political correctness" rather than giving the military a clear objective and allowing them to prosecute a war. With the Obama Regime, conducting war is something that has to be very tightly controlled so as to not cause any bad publicity or cause any blood to be splashed on their own shoes thus their reliance on Preditor strikes and covert action while publicly restricting the activities of troops committed openly to battle. As much as I like and admire Special Operators, folks, that is not the way to win a war. It is a way to ensure defeat, politically if not militarily. Just ask Lyndon Johnson.

You can be certain that the enemy, the Islamo-fascists who were historically allied with the National Socialists in WWII, are adhering to the teachings of Sun Tzu and von Clauswitz. You can be certain that their goal is absolute victory and they aren't worrying about looking bad in the Left Stream Media because they see the Left Stream Media, if it doesn't support them, as an enemy to be eventually eliminated as well. Their goal is total dominance. Under Obama, ours is to get along and be a "nice guy."

I wonder what Sun Tzu would say about that?

An excellent piece on the move by the FCC to take regulatory control over the internet despite prior court rulings that the internet isn't in the purview of the FCC. You will remember that the Chairman of the FCC, Julius Genachowski, couldn't win the consent of the Senate so became a recess appointment and while I do not dispute the President's power to make recess appointments, Genchowski's almost immediate move to ignore precedent and court rulings makes me wonder about the Regime's actual goal.

President Obama, despite his recent claim that he was technologically deficient in using an iPod or an iPad, had a presidential campaign that was able to make extraordinary use of the internet for both campaigning and raising funds. There is no doubt that his claim in a speech was pure artifice. Given that, why the move to have the government take control of the internet? Is is pure crony capitalism so that he can ensure that his favored companies, like Google, profit? Or, because the internet has proven to be as formidable an opponent as it was an ally, is it so that the Regime can better control the information flow?

AlGore's demagoguery is plain for all thinking people to see. His masterful piece of fiction, An Inconvenient Truth, won an Academy Award as a documentary in a Hollywood filled with vacuous minds that were still upset that their choice had lost to George W. Bush. I suppose that the Oscar was their way of compensating the one they believed should have been president. Be that as it may, we know now that his film should have been entitled A Very Convenient Lie as is amply demonstrated by his recent purchase of a $9 million mansion located...at the Pacific Ocean's edge. You know, one of the oceans that he told us would be rising and flooding all coastal areas around the world and making Manhattan a modern Venice. His goal was to ignite the unthinking base of the left into supporting Cap & Trade, a program falsely described as a way to save the world but in actuality a program to make AlGore and his allies in the ruling liberal elite the über rich ruling liberal elite. After all, what is the use of going into politics if not to make money, right?

AlGore's arrogant refusal to debate the issue of Anthropogenic Global Warming/Climate Change (AGW/CC) is proof enough that the theory is a fraud. President Obama, looking the nation in the eye with his chin and nose in the air also arrogantly declared that AGW/CC to be fact and closed to further debate; but that declaration was from a man who is a proven liar and cannot be trusted to tell the people the truth about anything. (Could it be that the major carbon trading company in the United States is located in Chicago have anything to do with his statement? I wonder?) Unfortunately for both AlGore and Obama, Mother Nature has also weighed in on the debate and proven them both to be fools and liars as if to underscore the fraud that was uncovered at East Anglia in the way they were manipulating the data to show that non-existant AGW/CC was real. Real scientists know that the failure to empirically question results through open debate and proven methods means that the results are not science but science fiction and that's what we are dealing with now.

Thanks to the heavy-handed liberal-progressive-socialist Democrats in power the EPA has declared that carbon dioxide is a poisonous gas which must be controlled. That means, I suppose, that there will be limits on how much each person can exhale and the only bright side to the EPA's asinine overextension of their power would be if it served to shut-up the politicians in Washington. Of course, that's too much to hope for because they will surely exempt themselves from the law. But the actual effect of the EPA's action will be to add taxes to the production of energy which will, of course, be passed on to We the People. I know this is hard for many on the left to understand because it is pretty advanced economics that is only taught at the high school level but when you tax a corporation that tax is passed on to the consumer because it is a cost of doing business. So Cap & Trade, which is basically taxation by another name (a more accurate name might be Cap & Theft) will raise the energy costs to all of We the People.

Fine, you say? You're willing to pay more to heat and light your house and drive your car? Well, ok. You can take that approach if you want but you should think it through. If you're paying more for energy, so are the corporations who produce the other things that you use. Things like food, water, clothing, medicine (yes, I know that bill goes to the Government but where will the Government get the money?) and everything else that we must use on a daily basis. It won't be just your power and gas bill that goes up. All your bills will go up. Way, way up. About the only people who won't feel the effects of such a law are the Amish and those few in Appalachia who live off their own farms and through trading and still don't have electricity or running water and to whom a vehicle driving by is a major event. The rest of We the People will see our lives reduced to a level of poverty that hasn't been seen in modern America because modern America has never been this much under the thumb of radical socialists before. The ruling elite won't suffer, however, because they will control the carbon credits and the profits will go to them.

Remember, it's never really been about the climate.  It's really about money (yours and mine) and political power (theirs).  That's why this coming November is so important.

Julius Caesar of the Internet

Are you ready for the specter of the government, especially the Obama Regime, controlling the internet?  You'd better be, because that's exactly what they plan to do.

The linked WSJ article talks about how they plan to take over the internet to enforce the safe sounding idea of "net neutrality."  Net neutrality seems reasonable enough.  But wait, isn't the net neutral as it now exists?  Can't you find just about every kind of idea on the net.  Can't you do research on all sides of any issue now?  Of course you can!  With blogs ranging from the Daily Kos and Huffington Post to Red State and Rush Limbaugh you can find open, vibrant political discourse covering all issues from the far, far left to the far, far right.  You can find discussions on scientific research.  You can find discussions on religion–every religion–without any problem at all.  So what is this thing that they call "net neutrality" and why is the Obama Regime so hot to implement it?

And most importantly, who will profit from its implementation?  Will it lower prices?  If so, for how long?  Will it stifle free speech in any way?  Will the government control net content in any way? Will there be censorship?

So many questions that need to be answered about the innocuous sounding two-word phrase:  Net neutrality.

The person driving the issue for the Obama Regime is Julius Genachowski, a recess appointment who could not pass muster and get approval by the Senate because of his radical ideas and agenda, and Julius believes that he can change the rules to get around a federal appeals court ruling that the FCC lacks the authority to regulate the Internet.  I am hoping that he is wrong and I certain his attempt will be seriously challenged in court.

Until then, it's important that we watch this very carefully and try to find out the true answers to the questions above and the truth, you can be certain, won't be handed to us by Julius because he's on a mission.  With the crowd that is government now, it's better to be very careful with our trust.  After all, "net neutrality" is a non-phrase straight from George Orwell's 1984.  If they're using that kind of double-talk we'd best keep one hand on our wallet and the other on our freedoms.  They'll steal both in a heartbeat if they think they can.

Citizens United We Stand

"But I don't want to share free speech.  It's mine! It's mine!"

Liberal-progressive-socialist Democrats tout their love of free speech.  They love it, but like a whiney, spoiled baby, they don't want to share it.  The only thing they've ever been able to learn to share is other people's money.  They share that with great joy.

Fortunately the Supreme Court was there and called it correctly in the Citizens United case.  But, with the help and support of the Left Stream Media, President Barack Obama and the Obama Regime embarked on a Marxist-style campaign that began with the State of the Union address to again limit free speech for those corporations and businesses that weren't reliably "liberal "  This is evidenced by the fact that the Unions, those darlings of the liberal-progressive-socialist elite, are not restricted in the new bill.

Isn't that just like the Regime (or like any regime)?  Obama has told us that he wants everyone to just shut-up, listen and obey.  To him that makes things bi-partisan.  To us, that makes things partisan and dictatorial.  He wants to do it the way it was done in fascist states because that's where socialism is most comfortable.  The state is in control of everything and everybody is happy.

And the Constitution–which he clearly hates and ignores–says that we don't have to shut-up and listen.  It's called the 1st Amendment.  We have the right to freely express our political thoughts and, rest assured, we will continue doing that long after Obama is no longer in the White House.

LAPD lobbying to end gun rights

Remember when Obama said that he wouldn't try to take away the guns of honest, law-abiding Americans?  When you see the bill that was introduced by his party it is clear that was just another lie that he used to get elected.

This is a bill that should not be passed.  It is a direct assault on the Constitution on both the Due Process and 2nd Amendment grounds.  Worse yet, it doesn't address the problem because it's not meant to address the problem.  It's meant to be a tool that the liberal-progressive-socialist Democrats can use to abrogate the 2nd Amendment and, like the thieves of Tammany Hall, ensure that only the ruling elite and their supporters have that right.

Imagine, your name is put on a list of suspected terrorists by someone you don't even know because maybe, just maybe, you wrote a harsh letter to a newspaper, a Senator or a Congressman.  Or maybe you belong to the NRA or write a blog like this one.  Then you go down to buy a new shotgun to hunt with and, WHAMMO!, your purchase is denied.  You ask why and the dealer says he doesn't know.  All he has is a rejection on the instant check through the State Police.

You ask the State Police and they say they don't know anything and all they have is that it's "Federal."  You go to the FBI, ATF and the Justice Department and are met with blank stares and shrugged shoulders.  Now you know that in order for you to buy a shotgun to hunt with you will have to hire a lawyer and file a suit in Federal Court.  So you have the money and you do so.

All your attorney is given is a heavily redacted document that makes no sense.  The judge can't even see the full file.  The government's position is that it can't be revealed.  You can't face your accuser because the government won't identify the accuser.  You can't call witnesses because the government won't show you the full accusation.  You are in a system that would make Joseph Stalin smile with pleasure.

And they plan on doing it in the name of making us safer.  These Senators, liberal-progressive-socialist Democrats all, along with enablers like Mike Bloomberg and Chief Kelly and the Chief of the LAPD, absolutely plan to take away the guns of honest, law abiding citizens.

I guarantee you that Barack H. Obama will sign the bill if it gets to his desk.  He knows he lied but that was to get elected.  Now he has to consolidate his power as fast and far as he can so he can retain that power.  And if not him, the next socialist president.

S. 1317, titled "Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009" should actually be titled "Denying Any American a Firearm Just Because We Say So Act of 2009."  It gives Eric Holder, the worst, most incompetent Attorney General in history, the discretion to deny anyone the right to purchase and own a firearm not based on Probably Cause but only on mere "suspicion" and "belief." It is a direct affront to the Constitution and a slap in the face of all law-abiding Americans.

To make matters worse, there is a companion bill, S.2820 that is titled "Preserving Records of Terrorist & Criminal Transactions Act of 2009" which is in fact a national gun registration bill.  No gun sale is exempted even if the person isn't on the nebulous "Terrorist Watch List" so it's clear that all Americans are considered "Terrorists & Criminals" if they buy a firearm.

Contact your Senators and Representatives now.  This is something that must be stopped.

And make sure you donate to whoever is running against Senators Lautenberg, Schumer, Levin, Reed, Feinstein and Whitehouse.  These people need to become unemployed as soon as possible.

Finally, if I were a New Yorker, I'd start thinking about what Mike Bloomberg, who got into office as a closet liberal-progressive-socialist in RINO clothing and now acts more like a petty dictator who wants to tell everyone else how to live their lives, has really done for New York City.  Are your taxes lower?  Is business better?  Do you enjoy life more?  If not, then you should fire him next election.  New York would be better off as New York, New York, rather than as New York, just-like-California.  (Broke, over-regulated and over-taxed.)

The same practices that are stipulated in the Arizona law have been in part of life in Prince William Country, Virginia, right outside Washington, DC, for over a year and, guess what? No civil rights violations by racist police. No lawsuits claiming illegal arrests. And to top it all off, the fast food industry is still functioning without a problem. Yes, there have been more immigration holds placed on people with whom the police have come into lawful contact but when you think of it, that's how it should be. Police should enforce the law and not be forced to ignore it.

Mayor Rudy Giuliani (Remember him? The last competent mayor of New York City?) proved the importance of having the police enforce the law. He knew that when you allow the law to be broken and when the public sees uniformed law enforcement officers ignoring petty violations of the law, respect for the law collapses and you have a rise in petty crime. With the rise in petty crime the true criminals, emboldened by police inaction, come out of the woodwork and you have a corresponding rise in serious crime. When he took office New York's crime rate was high as a result of years of liberal mayors "encouraging" police restraint so he ordered the police to get back in the game and attack the petty crime. The initial shock of receiving a citation for jaywalking or any of the other myriad small infractions hit the city hard and people were screaming about it being unfair and how the Mayor was creating a fascist state. But, lo and behold, the crime rate started dropping and New York became safer. Safer, that is, until emboldened by 8 years of liberal-progressive-socialist softness on international terrorism, Islamo-fascists seized control of passenger aircraft and turned them into weapons of mass destruction on 9/11.

The same rules apply to the Arizona law. It doesn't go beyond what Federal immigration law already requires. There are no "extras" required of legal residents or citizens. It only requires that if local officers, in the course of performing their regular duties, encounter someone who cannot identify themselves properly then they will ensure that the person is legally in the U.S. by contacting ICE. It's not onerous. It's not a seizure of individual freedom (if it was Obama would certainly support it!). It is what we should expect of our law enforcement officials as they perform their duties.

And for you liberals out there, if you're boycotting Arizona Ice Tea, I'm sure you feel very proud of yourself. Just be aware that it is, and always has been, a company that is headquartered in New York. The only thing that's from Arizona about it is the name. But, in your alternate intellectual universe I'm sure that's sufficient.

This seems like a good idea only if you are truly trying to create a fascist state. Think about the irony in this. They (the liberal-progressive-socialist Democrats) are complaining about Arizona's statute at the same time they are putting together legislation to create a biometric National ID Card that will have to be carried by all Americans and produced on demand.
